Targeting a concert like that where virtually the entire crowd is children, teens and parents. Sickening. Just shows that these sub-humans have no limits.

I know children of friends and colleagues who went to her Birmingham show a couple of days ago, just shows how close anyone can be to this sort of horror.

There was a woman on breakfast tv in absolute bits this morning because no one has been able to get hold of her 15 year old daughter. I can only imagine that kind of agony.

I'm all for bringing back capital punishment for anyone planning these kind of attacks.

:agree: +1

Its horrendous. I was out shopping yesterday afternoon in manchester city centre and walked past the arena, then to wake up to hear this news is unreal.

I get that people say it's not islam religion that is responsable, but people. But one has to agree that currently islam is perfect for manifesting such deeds.

Might as well chop heads, true. What a bout very strict immigration policies for muslims and people from muslim countries?
Not that there is no connection between terrorism and muslim immigration at all, but it won't be very effective either imo, and the connection is hugely exaggerated by right wing politicians and media.

If you look at all the attacks that have happened, the vast majority are second/third generation. Plus you punish millions of people for crimes they have no part in, and fuel tensions between the Christian/western world and Muslims even more.

It's a very complicated topic really, as most are important ones are. Effective police work can prevent a lot of attacks, other than that I believe the best bet is doing as much as possible to combat the social exclusion that is at the background of virtually all attacks. It's a very broad challenge of course, but has a lot of advantages in other areas as well.

Oh, and targeting radicalizing groups, centers & institutions is probably very important. Here of course the police will need both need a legal framework to work with, which doesn't exist in every European country afaik, as well as a real understanding of the issue and how to handle it. Otherwise, many Muslim communities & individuals will be treated and targeted unfairly, which could easily and even understandably lead to even greater distance between them and mainstream society.

Don't think any potential terrorist would think like that.

Capital punishment doesn't work as a deterrent for things like ordinary homicides either, won't do any good against fanatics.
Doesn't being killed by a woman deprive them of their imaginary virgins? Well maybe not if they live in Rotherham but for ordinary fruitcakes aka wahhabists I think it's a sticking point.

If it didn't cost taxpayer money I'd be happy to see them in a 6x6' cell for the rest of their lives.

That's racist.

Or not.

It's hard to keep track these days.
It's not that hard.

If it's a demonstrable fact that many islamic terrorists are immigrants from muslim countries, strict immigration policies are not racist.

But I don't believe this is the case. As Ocelbot pointed out, many terrorists are 2nd, 3d or even 4th generation and are Belgian, French or English.

Maybe islam is the problem then? Or part of the problem at least? Why is it bad to say that islam as a religion might be part of the problem?

How can something against religion be racist? Is religion a race?
