New scoring system (2 Viewers)

Ok so instead of the system we used last year, we're impovising with some new rules this time around. It hasn't been tested properly so if we get a lot of bug reports, we'll just go back to the old one. For reference's sake, this is how it worked last year:

• 3 points for the exact score
  Prediction is 3-1, result is 3-1, you get 3 points
• 1 point for correct match outcome (win/draw/loss)
  Prediction is 3-1, result is 2-1, you get 1 point

The new system that we're going to try this year should be more interesting as it's a little more complicated. Basically, we're just using the functions already existing in the software so this isn't something we decided on specifically, it's a finished product that we just use.

• 5 points for the exact score
  Prediction is 3-1, result is 3-1, you get 5 points
• 3 points for correct match outcome (win/draw/loss)
  Prediction is 3-1, result is 2-1, you get 3 points
• 2 points for correct score margin
  Prediction is 3-1, result is 5-3, you get 2 points
• 1 point each for correct home and away score
  Prediction is 3-1, result is 1-1, you get 1 point for correct away score, 0 points for incorrect home score

wait a minute, so if predict its 2-0, but the score is 1-0 i get 3 points. and what if the score is 3-1? i get 3 points for an outsome, and 2 for score margin, 5 in total?

Looking at the scoreboard after the first round I conclude that the system for calculating points is nothing like I thought it would be. And I can't be bothered to really find out either, it's more interesting this way isn't it?
