First things first: thankyou Byrone.

In principle, I don't like the idea of paying to post.

In practice, I'll pay, providing enough of the good guys are going to hang around.

$20 is nothing, considering the number of hours of entertainment this place provides.

That's pretty much exactly what I said in the middle of the chaos earlier.

Great!!! Now I have to pay to engage in discussions with my fellow Juventinos and Juventinas across the globe. We could all just migrate to Facebook and start our own group there.

What I don't understand, is why this sudden need for a cash injection and change of ownership? I have no problems paying the money, but just like when buying a car or a condo, I need to know what I am getting for my money!

I thank Byrone for saving this forum, I was unaware that it needed saving, but great that he did it.

I was surprised to read 20 bucks a year. I mean, I don't weight much here, although I've joined quite a while ago, I haven't posted much. But I still think it's a terrible idea.

And the manner in which this "fee" was announced just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I always felt this was our forum, you know a public forum that felt like a Juventus global home. And to all of a sudden demand a fee just seems like, well, foreign.

I mean if a donation was asked or discussed first, perhaps I would understand and donate. But demanding $20/year for a forum? Which many people already feel ownership to, doesn't sound right, IMO.

Especially since there is no mention on how much is needed, which I think should be mentioned considering you say it's only for maintenance (to keep it up).

it's one payment of 20 bucks, not per year...personally, I don't think it is that much to ask...a lot of us here are around for a considerable amount of time, and it's not that stiff a sum...I've tried other footy forums and they are not nearly as interesting or as fun as Juventuz.

True. I've been here almost a year and I'm not gonna stop posting here because I've to pay a fee. It is reasonable for a lot of us who happens to live on the forum:)D) But what it will do is, that it will stop new members from joining in. Not many would actually know how fun Juventuz is until they try it.

B, thanks for saving the forums man. Its much appreciated.
Have you thought about other ways to generate revenue? Sponsors for example...

When I saw this I thought it was some kind of joke, not that it's a stupid but I just couldn't believe something like this can happen. I had no idea it was that serious.
Thanks for doing this Byrone.

I think 20$ is not much because you pay it once a year. You can't say is much because it's less then 2$ per month. Still, I don't think you'll see me here. It's not like I have many options, I'd have to bug my dad...it's...well, complicated.

I feel sorry for people who would actually consider paying for this. What a pathetic life one would have to pay money to read other people's opinions (mostly trash).....
Ever bought a magazine? You're wasting many hours of your life on this place and 20 dollars is nothing in comparison. No need to be condescending.

In principle it is wrong however and I don't think I'm going to pay. I have some form of contact with my favourite members outside of this forum and if I'm looking for open discussion, I'll go to Xtratime.

Shame that the biggest English speaking Juventus community is going to be closed to the public.

I'm paying the 20 dollars and i'm also adding more as a personal donation. You guys aren't aware of the problem. It really comes down to this - the forum stops existing vs 20 dollars paid by each members.

That pretty much sums it up.

Within the year your member count will go down to 300. Good luck with that.

Guys, since Byrone has clearly left no room for discussion whatsoever and has simply demanded an annual fee of 20 dollars because of his generous self, I suggest we use this thread to sum up other possible forums. Any good ideas?
