Nicole that makes no sense and would have been a particularly bad piece of marketing. Yes, Juve are the biggest club in Italy with perhaps 10 million supporters (I don't remember but that would be pretty massive) - that means there's still 45 million other Italians with a thorough despise or at least feelings of rivalry towards the club.

If he was doing it to charm Italy - he would have worn an Italy NT jersey.

My bet is that he just wanted to wear something famous from the nation just for the hell of it.
