Juventus have extended Pavel Nedved’s and Lilian Thuram’s contracts until June 2008. The two champions, whose contracts were tied until June 2006, will be Bianconeri for three more years, for all Juventus fans’s joy!

Both arrived in the summer of 2001, the Czech at Lazio and the Frenchman at Parma, the two champions gave their decisive contribution to win three scudetti (2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2004-2005). Both of them can boast of important appearances in their national teams. Thuram became European and World Champion with France (respectively in 2000 and 1998).

Juventus Football Club, represented by lawyer Jean Louis Dupont (specialised in European Law, Member of the Liège Bar and lawyer of the G14), has taken legal action at the Paris Court and the Liège Court against the unauthorised use of the Juventus logo as well as of names and images of the Turin-based club by some online betting operators.

On August, 24th Juventus will take part to the Trofeo Joan Gamper-Estrella Damm, one of the oldest and most prestigious trophies in Spain, celebrating its 40th edition this year.
Capello’s team will meet Barcelona at Camp Nou. This very prestigious friendly match will also be a good test right before the start of the championship four days later.Juventus will have to disprove an awkward tradition. In fact, the Italian teams that have played the 6 editions of the Gamper trophy have always been defeated by Barcelona.
In 1886 Milan lost 3-1, in 1994 it was Brescia’s turn to lose by 4-0 at Camp Nou, in 1996 Inter conceded a 1-2, in 1997 Barca beated Sampdoria in the extra time to penalties, after a 2-2, in 2001 Parma was beated 3-2 and in 2004 it was Milan’s turn again, defeated 2-1 by the Blaugrana. Thus the task for Capello’s lads will be to bring the sought-after trophy to Italy for the first time.

The premises at Corso Galileo Ferraris 32 have been sold. The prestigious building will remain Juventus headquarters, like it has been since January 2001, thanks to a long-term lease.
