This is, and always was, a fascist takeover. The real problem, imo, is that this large group of people are ok with this takeover.
Things I see in the horizon:
- forcing private companies to not hire people not ideologically aligned with the leader
- forcing school districts to teach bible or lose any federal assistance
- legalizing carrying guns by 16 year old teenagers, and encouraging them to have one.
agreed. as i said before the elections, i see a lot of similarities between post 2010 hungary and trump's intentions
- orbán was prime minister between '98 and '02, then lost two elections despite the socialists not having two brilliant cycles. the second one was especially bad and of course worsened by the '08 financial crisis. iirc orbán didn't even enter the parliament for a full cycle between 2006 and '10 other than taking his oath, he was so pissed and offended. trump also lost an election and was very bitter about it
- both are under russian influence, so the putinesque political model appeals to both
- both are populists (although for different reasons. orbán started on the moderate left, then slowly turned into a centrist, right leaning politician, then by losing 2 elections he learned the hard way that extremely clear messages and personal attacks are effective. trump though, he's simply isn't intelligent enough for anything else but dumb populism and lies.)
- both don't give a shit about rules or correctness. at least orbán is careful enough to rewrite the rules before blatantly braking them - at least domestically. it will be very hard to prosecute them once they lose power
- both are petty, greedy and power hungry
- both can lie, and endlessly at that. the difference is that orbán is a smart sociopath who exactly knows the truth, while trump probably can't tell facts from fiction
- both lack spine and principles. they are easily bribed. qatar, russia or israel, they don't care where the money is coming from
- neither of them respect democratic principles and both plan to stay in power, no matter what happens. remember the reports about trump's reaction to the defeat at the 2020 election, when he allegedly said he's not going anywhere? orbán was asked about the upcoming elections the other day and he openly said that he won't let the current opposition leader to take power
- their economies are similar too. in hungary, you cannot get access to public funding without giving a 20-25% cut to orbán's people. in murica you get a tariff extension if you eat trump's ass (see tim cook, the fucking sellout he is)
- both are fake christians
- both are racists and hate women. orbán is a wife beater (i knew his wife personally, she was my law teacher at uni) and trump's track record speaks for itself too
- both will fire the best professionals if they don't align with their views, and both will rate loyalty above anything else
- both are able to politicize every single issue
- both rely on a few extremely wealthy allies
- both planned a major transfer of wealth using taxes
and the list is basically endless, i could go on for days
they are turning murica into russia where the dear leader decides on everything and the ordinary people will pay the bill
after 15 years, hungary had enough and orbán will lose the next elections. not sure whether the official outcome of the elections will reflect that, but fidesz will lose at the booths. trump is also likely to lose the 2026 mid terms, so murica is a bit healthier in that sense

Its one thing to call people out for extreme and stupid political views and cult like fascist mindset or behaviour.
But there is absolutely no reason you should ever mention other posters daughters, let alone hypotheticals of rape. Thats way too far.
You should have an inner voice that should tell you that.
There is no reason to go down that road, when there's plenty of legit material to be critical about.

in a previous post i typed something very similar to what seven did, then i thought nah, that's too much, i won't go there, and deleted that part. they should feel ashamed for voting for a pedo and protecting him even after this regardless
