You can tell all of these people are criminals just by the way they look. Abbott, Bondi, Hegseth, Patel. All have that shit eating grin guilty look. Now they also have TV actor Judge Jeannine on the DC case. You are a special kind of stupid for even remotely liking these people.

There’s a nice article on WSJ today regarding how US is more and more like China in “state capitalism” model. Closing Disneyland is prime example of that.

Elite hoes are big mad that China will surpass them as world's biggest economy so rather than accept and plan for the inevitable the empire must go on regardless of the cost to your personal freedoms and standard of living

While their peons get mad at China instead of their representatives in government who are bending over for the elites.

greatest country in the world, right?

even in an authoritarian shithole like hungary it would have been covered by universal healthcare. we do have helicopters and competent doctors too, even though the general state of the infrastructure obviously lacks behind italy, france or germany. but this is unimaginable, even here

and this is on everyone, not only trump and his dumb cult. universal healthcare should be the number two priority for every politician, second only to the federal debt. and they are kicking rocks instead and approve trump's idiotic big baffling bill.

My wife and I had to do a lab test a few years ago when we were trying to have a baby. The whole thing took 10 minutes. We were not on the same insurance. Her insurance covered the whole thing, and mine slapped me with a $1100 bill! After months of calling they waived 70% of it. Insurance system here is insane

How do people even pay these stupid bills?
i don't know. i imagine they have multiple options like negotiating the bill (like the story @Ronn just mentioned), payment plans, loans, selling their stuff. or there's crowdfunding (lol)

or they just don't. you can always declare bankruptcy in the land of the free ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

crazy story. hope you've been successful.

btw imagine the same thing in belgium or spain. incredible how murica is the only big first world country (...) without ~universal healthcare and they not only not doing anything to improve the situation, but they willingly cut medicare

not that european healthcare covers everything. for instance i'm not fully aware of the current situation but our social security financed system only supported tooth extraction for decades when it comes to publicly funded dental treatments lol. so everyone has their private dentist. very few types of plastic surgeries are supported, like post burn treatments, but no "beauty enhancing" treatments are allowed. some examinations have a waiting list of literal years. some fertility treatments are covered, some aren't. we don't pile up enough blood for transfusions, etc. it's not a perfect system. but life saving operations are always covered. you won't wake up on a treatment table with a doctor telling you that you'll have to sell your house because they saved your sorry ass.

I've seen my fair share of hospitals & doctors the past few years (multiple MRI's, other scans, minor surgery, etc) and I couldn't even tell you what I've had to pay myself. As in: I don't remember, because it was peanuts. For which I'm grateful, obviously.

But there's also a downside: a lot of money wasted & lots of people profiteering from the system. Cuts will (have to) be made in the near future.
