I can’t stand this shit anymore. The Everglades concentration camp and people selling merch of it is where I draw my line. Seeing a guy wearing one of those shirts the other day made me sick to my stomach. The cruelty on those people is unreal.

After spending most of my life in the US I never thought I would think of leaving but even as a citizen this is not safe anymore and I want no part of it. So my family and I just started making plans to leave for Brazil this year and stay there for the next few years. We can both work remotely and we can always come back if things get better.
Thankfully you don’t have to calculate the match timings in Rio because I already have you covered :heart:
In all seriousness, I know the feeling. It’s not easy, but at times like these it’s worth it just for the added peace of mind.

is it normal to only have a few 1000s on their bank accounts? that's like 0 emergency funds. i can't remember the last time i had less than either of these people (save for the 0.5m guy)

That's due to social media overdrive consumerism and pressure to have all the clothes, get cars on finance, nice place to rent. More people are just breaking even each month. And of course, cost of everything is going up.

People could have got away with this in the boomer era but now, no chance.
