Thats the thing. Private universities should not be exempt from taxes imho. I have never been a fan of private universities and I'm glad that diploma from public universities around here holds a value so kids can get a good chance at higher level of education regardless of their background. I think education and healthcare need to be free and not only available to privilleged few. But I'm socialist European so there is that...

The Democrats bear some responsibility here, their strongest response is just sending a letter to Trump, and Schumer is a pussy. As extreme as the Republicans may be, the Democrats have enabled them by constantly backing down and allowing them to act without consequence. Until that changes, and the Democrats learn to fight fire with fire, the Republicans will continue to dominate. It’s that simple.
