If he were in jail, he wouldn't have been elected. Garland did drop the ball on the whole thing. I don't think he'd have gone to prison anyways. The optics of an American president going to jail would have been terrible and the Democrats don't have the will required to do such ballsy things.

I think state officials where one party rules are usually terrible. But California have a jungle primary system, and yet Newsom won with a healthy margin.

Yes just like certain states no way a Dem would win. This tells the story of Cali gov election .....
With more than 4 million votes counted, Newsom had 62%, a result reflective of a state where there are nearly twice as many registered Democrats as Republicans.

What I think sucks these days with our politics is all voting results on bills and the sort are completely done along party lines. One REP votes against party line or one DEM does the same, they rip him/her a new one.

Possibly wrong just seem years/decades ago there was more give and take with some compromise on the policy differences. Maybe no wonder we as citizens stick to our guns also. Talk about some parents being bad role models, most of our politicians I wouldn't trust walking my dog.
