Think of it this way, if millions of americans were willing to vote for a candidate/party that has spent the past year committing genocide, is it really so surprising that millions of others were willing to vote for Trump?
That's not the right comparison.

That party didn't run their campaign on genocide.

This sounds like a fascist police state.

He also said he’s going to end the Department of Education, while also citing he’s going to crack down on juveniles by using the Department of Education in the video above.

Everything I’m seeing is basically end of the country type stuff. In a very haphazard and retarded way.
This was all in the project 2025 manifesto that has been out in public domain for a long time, people were warned about it. But no the majority of the country would happily give all that up just to think they're saving a few dollars on their groceries...

What I don't understand is how so many Trump voters say "Oh he won't do that" or "It won't be that bad", when Trump has said time and time again he'll do exactly that and yes, it will be that bad.

A lot of the stuff he said during the campaign could have been said by Goebbles or Hitler. I've never in my life seen such remarkable echoes.

And even if you believe he's not going to do what he said he'll do, why vote for him at all? I mean, then you don't even know what his plans are.

It's such a casual swing to straight out fascism. You're going to start deporting millions of people without a care in the world apparently.

What the fuck is wrong with Americans?

from his 2016 campaign I think it’s pretty obvious he won’t do half the things he promises, this is a good summary

so as i said it many times, trump, orbán, erdogan, putin et al are basically the same people

i prolly posted this once. universities and press are the first obvious enemies of autocrats. good luck murica

Looking forward to the Trump cabinet resignations when they are caught covering up a child sex abuse scandal in orphanages

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/16/world/europe/hungary-viktor-orban-fidesz-resignations.html

The raw material is there. It's only a matter of time...

It might be different this time, though. Trump will have control of the House and Senate. And the level of hateful rhetoric has ramped up basically 1000%. His supporters are bloodthirsty this time and want the Christo-Fascist state at all costs.

It's always white Christian turd buckets who are caught doing this stuff. Every. Single. Time. A Christian fuck.

Never a drag queen.

Maybe they should have the death penalty for this. Just going to be a bunch of dead Christians.

Yep. My NYTimes link above from earlier this year.
completely missed it lol, just scrolled through the twitter embeds

can't read thw whole stuff because of the paywall. here's two articles from hungarian journos, both in well enough written english: https://telex.hu/english/2024/02/16...ch-zoltan-balog-resigns-over-clemency-scandal
https://www.direkt36.hu/en/fideszes...-a-novak-bukasat-hozo-kegyelmi-dontes-mogott/

yeah they really pardoned a pedophile. and yeah it was a reformed bishop, also a minister at that time who filed the documents. btw he kept his positions within the reformed church after his resignation from his public position lol

what the journalists won't (and for ethical reasons, probably can't) write is that it's an open secret that novák katalin, the first female president of the country was not only balog's protégé but also lover since she worked as an intern, and his good relationship with orbán paved the way for her.

that's what murica can also expect: personal loyalty to the leader over everything else. these are white collar criminal circles, not political parties. no wonder vance is already threatening the eu over twitter

Great Hungarian sources for this scandal. Thanks!

Amazing given how much the media has been turned into a Fidesz puppet.

Well you’re the murican, you have a much better insight.

Personally I just don’t see a lot of sense carrying out some of the promises like deporting millions of immigrants or starting a tariff war with Europe. I see the sense in promising those things and getting elected, but actually doing them and shooting the country and yourself in the foot? That’d be just dumb.

Americans only hope is that Elon Musk will be part of the cabinet. Now they’ll have two people with a track history of broken promises and hopefully they keep that up.

Yep. My NYTimes link above from earlier this year.

Projection is a powerful thing. The person yelling, "God disdains your sin of filthy sex!" is invariably the first guy you want to seize their hard drive.
It is an incredible tool for understanding who you cannot trust.

I guess the question is who are his advisors. Of course using our own military on our streets would be unpopular unless you’re a true Nazi, but they might do it anyway.

We can only go on what he says and even after being elected he’s still saying the exact same things. If not even worse.

Misleading. Repealing Obamacare was not for the lack of trying. John McCain saved it with his vote in the senate. Same as the wall, since Pelosi blocked the funding in the house once dems won the house back in 2018. Trump is famously trying very hard to stick to his promises.
