Maybe those are the lucky few.
Trump promised:
- trade tariffs of 20% on imported goods, 60% on goods imported from China.
- a weaker dollar.
- the deportation of millions of immigrant workers.
- a major public health role for RFK Jr., who wants to ban vaccines.
This boils down to an economy in which your money will be worth less, but the price of goods will be significantly higher. But not just that. Services, if you are able to get them at all, will now be much more expensive too. That quality contractor who can fix your sink for free? Gone. You want that dude from down the block to paint your home, just like he did with your neighbour's? Gone.
Within this economic turmoil, Trump wants to ban something that prevents the death or permanent disabilities of millions of children every single year.
These are Trump's
promises.
It's unlikely that he keeps them. He never does. He never actually does any work.
But you know what? I hope he does.
