Among VP candidates, Josh Shapiro of PA makes the most sense. So bizarre since he was in the news last weekend for Trump’s assassination attempt and most haven’t heard of him until then.

Beshear is in the mix but KY is a lost cause.
Considering Penns. is a swing state that the democrats need to win without relying on victories in other states which are harder to win whilst being down as much as 15 points, Shapiro is definitely one to consider.

She’s so unpopular that even Nancy Pelosi didn’t come out and support her for the nomination yet. In fact, none of the big Dems have, other than Biden. That tells you all you need to know.

The people who only care about Roe were always going to vote for the Dems anyway. It wouldn’t matter.
Nancy knows more than everybody. If you want to know where the wind is blowing, you do have to follow her index finger.

This was an obvious coup though. You think Joe Biden drops out if they were successful in offing trump?
Nope. And IMO, that would have been a tragedy on two counts.

Having an infirm statesmen honestly would reduce national credibility to puppet theater. And it wouldn't be fair to Biden either.

OK, so three. I still hate martyrs.

Obama just came out and said there needs to be a process to select a qualified nominee. No mention of Harris. She’s dead to everyone.
So funny given Obama was always making passes at her in public that were wholly inappropriate.

I wonder what flipped him. Unless he's got that black president envy thing going.

For who do Americans cheer for to get the spot? Not in a troll way.
Depends on whom you ask, really. And you will get about 7 answers.

The Democrats should aim for someone in the 45-55 age range.

Then absolutely hammer home just how old Trump is. The man is 78. He's the oldest ever candidate for president. Oldest ever.

What flipped Obama is that he likes winners. It's as simple as that.

I can't say I'd be impressed with "look at his age" campaign as it was watered down with Biden.

Imo, whoever the candidate is, I don't see Trump getting less than 45%. But since there's no big name out there, I think Trump will win this.

Actually this is where I think Harris can thrive on, being a former prosecutor I'd hammer home how he's a convicted criminal, rapist and unlawful thing he has committed. Just get people reminded what they are voting for and not just an ageist argument.

Yup.

This is a godsend for them.

Frankly, they are up against a senile rapist who has multiple bankruptcies to his name and whose skin isn't even of human colour.

If they can't beat this guy, maybe they really shouldn't be running a country like the US.

Is it realistic to have 7 candidates closely tied, though? I assume it's already narrowed down to 2-3, no? Or we'll see some crazy ass random sh#t...
No. I originally thought the Democrats should have went to the original point of primary campaigns: to elect their candidate. Today it's now such a formulaic and foregone conclusion, it's lost meaning.

But in all this chaos, that's too much wasted time and money.

So the vetting is likely to happen behind the scenes with as little exposed publicly as possible... unlike the need to get Biden to take a holiday.

What flipped Obama is that he likes winners. It's as simple as that.

True. That just adds to Obama's sleaze factor. Not that I think of him the way that many conservatives think of him as the worst and most racist president ever (until Biden came along). But the dude is a snake.

They still should do the ageist thing.

Trump's voters don't care that he is a rapist or a poor businessman. They vote for what they perceive as strength. Trump isn't strong though. He's 78 and in poor health. The Democrats need to talk about this.

To be quite frank, I doubt many people would reject poor businessman's bank account.

However, I do wonder how would the geo politics take turn if that's the case.

I do.

But that says a lot about the Democrats.

I'll be surprised if Trump loses this one. Not because I think he's brilliant, but I just can't see the Democrats win it after the Biden circus. Not just that, but there are no big promising names ready to take such role. I'm not saying Trump is ideal in that regard, but people are surely more in favor of a known name and when it comes to Trump he'll just take the lead there.

I am 100 percent sure you do not want Trump's bank account. The man is nothing but debt. Ironically it's what keeps the entire operation going.

Trump can definitely win. But the Democrats would only have themselves to blame. Again. The dude is literally a rapist. He has never made any sense on any important subject. He's been rich his entire life, so there's zero compassion for the average American on his part. He's fucking orange for crying out loud. If you can't beat this guy, you're pretty shit.
