IMO, I feel like anyone running for office should have some kind of military background, even if its enlisted for only 4 years. Service to country, that way when you send us to war you can at least say you wore the uniform too.

I think he was a unicorn in that sense. He was a Warhawk for sure but I would think others would value that decision more than those that never served

It would be far more effective to get money out of politics so that both Democrats and Republicans aren’t beholden to the military industrial complex. Easier said than done though.

I made that statement in jest, but I looked it up and found that in the past 5 years Saudi makes up 24% of all arms export from the US Makes sense since they need to replenish all the ammunition they are dropping on Yemen.
