The difference between you and the so-called “other side”/left in this thread, is that we bash the progressive nitwits just the same as we bash Trump, his sycophants, and the alt right... whereas you give “your side” a free pass to act like despicable cretins.

In today’s climate, pointless exercise to contemplate. It could never happen. It should also not be happening right now, but instead it’s being gleefully provoked by the Trump admin, and being spinelessly enabled by the democrats. Absurd what’s going on in America.
But you have a political system, that since the Gingrich-Clinton era has decided that extreme partisanship, labelling the other side as treasonous and/or traitors against American values, etc, is the way to go; that progressively upped the ante, each side reacting worse and worse, after each new election lost. Gingrich did more than anyone to set American politics on this path, and both republicans and democrats were more than willing to go along, attempting to outdo one another with pettiness, pomposity, and absurd cretinous behaviour. It’s out of control to the point where politicians lack the balls to criticize anyone under their own umbrella of supporters no matter how shit the behaviour.
I don’t really see a way back from the edge of the abyss here. Not right now anyways. Everything is so reactionary, and always with the idea of outdoing the other side.

Did you see the leaders of the democrat party wearing Kente scarves? There really is zero leadership in the DNC. The ones with the most social media followers are pulling the strings now and this is what we get. When I say we, I mean the nation.

Because many (have to clarify now so you guys don't think I'm including you all) people "on that side" hate when a minority doesn't walk in line with their agenda and as soon as one oversteps they are labeled. Every single minority that spoke at the GOP convention yesterday was labeled as an Uncle Tom because they decided to think for themselves.

But that was my point. The civility, bipartisanship, and respect has disappeared from American politics post-1994/5ish. And that truly began with Gingrich. And if you hear the man talk today, he seems to relish watching all this chaos, watching America’s political institutions fall apart, watching the insanity of a reality tv president “ruling” by tweet, race riots, and mass civil unrest unfold.
Joe Biden, for almost his entire political career was about as moderate/centre as it gets, but the loons out left have taken over and if he doesn’t listen to them, he’s a racist and a segregationist who should be cancelled. You are right, the DNC has no real leadership, and those that are there are utterly spineless.
Moderate conservatives, and reasonable conservative news figures like Wallace and Smith at Fox, get lambasted and attacked by the president and his supporters daily for even the slightest differences of opinion. Any conservatives who disagree with Trump are “deep state” actors and part of the “swamp”. The RNC has decided it’s okay to give Trump all the keys and be sycophantic toadies for him, so long as he appoints their judges, they will stomach anything from his admin

I don't disagree. I like Wallace, never watched Shep much to be honest, probably b/c he was always on earlier in the day I think. Wallace seems fearless to go after anyone but I'd like to see that on the other 90% of the media. Its literally unanimous.\
What I would like to see is a complete whip out of the press corps in the white hosue and bring in a slew of no name reporters from smaller affiliates waaayyyyy down the media food chain. I'd be wiling to wager less "ah ha! questions" and more meaningful questions that actually force politicians to answer tough questions.

Racism is treating people differently based on their race. Trump said a judge cannot oversee a case involving him because he was of Mexican descent and might dislike him because his comments about Mexicans, and he cannot be impartial. That's very much racist.
On Mexicans he said the people immigrating from Mexico are majority criminals, which is again racist. Muslim is certainly not a race but being discriminatory towards a religion is not much better. Also please show me a version of travel ban which Obama administration executed.

Nah none of the above is racist, because racism is seeing one race as superior and the other inferior thus ripe for discrimination, it's not about treating another race differently because that would make democrats the biggest racists around.
