I just want to say this.
I think it is absolutely insane that people are now being punished and held responsible for events that happened decades and even centuries before they were born, while other people committing these atrocities on their fellow man RIGHT NOW are not being punished and held responsible for actions that are happening today.

This is exactly it. Literally zero understanding that today’s moralities don’t apply in the slightest to events of a century or more ago, and that the ancestors of the people responsible for the colonial era, slavery, “genocide” of indigenous populations have absolutely nothing to do with those eras and events in history.
If they want to be talking about segregation, reservations, residential schools and other things that lasted into the latter half of the twentieth century, that there are still living people who experienced these things, that’s a discussion that can be had, and pushing for current day equality should be something that everyone supports. But this villainizing of everything white, and the exploitation of historical events in the name of overreaching affirmative action is nonsense.
Of course it doesn’t help that America somehow elected a reality tv conman intent on stoking the fire of racial conflict and discontent, and the democrats only respond by fanning those flames higher.

It’s not that commonplace, but there is a very loud minority doing this and blaring it all over social media. Twitter, instagram, Facebook, etc. I don’t even know what Tiktok is. Funnily enough, it’s mostly super “woke” white people. It’s actually quite a large number of female outdoor athletes unfortunately
