no problem with confederate statues being torn down, they’re representing treason and a divided nation, but please be more careful:lol:

Washington owned slaves, we go after him too?
Tots!

This is how I'm-more-woke-than-you works, as Nassim Taleb points out: the most intolerant get to impose virtues on everyone else. Everyone gets thrown under the bus until all that's left is Malcolm X, and even he's getting capped at the knees.

They won't stop until the founding fathers are removed from our currency and replaced with people like Obama and others they agree with.
Obama is too soft and tainted by the Western culture of institutionalized racism.

cam and dinesh do not acknowledge that change, which is interesting because that discounts a lot of their modern day arguments.

but when you can mold shit to fit your narrative on a whim, not much actually matters from a historical context
It’s so basic of a fact that I can’t see how anyone can dismiss it. You can actually point to a moment in time that it finally happened: civil rights act of 1964.

Turk is right. That's part of the plan.

You shouldn'a done it!

My problem is most of the people tearing down these statues were never slaves, never knew any slaves, probably couldn't name a "slave" in their family chain, and don't go around bashing the other countries in the world that have slaves to this day. That, along with the fact that if they step foot in like 20 countries around the globe, they probably wouldn't last 10 minutes because of their ugly white ass.

But go ahead and tear down history, that'll create change!
Of course I think it’s petty and silly. Especially when fake woke white people do it.

But I agree in principle. To be fair they should be replaced with things that represent the community now. The world moves on. No reason a statue of some third rate Louisiana colonel needs to be chilling in the park. Especially in states that refused to acknowledge the end of slavery until the late 1990s.

That's the key point. Do these figures represent the community? I could understand why people would want to remove a Columbus statue in my country for example, although I personally disagree with it. He's not exactly a hero for black people

I get that, and I really don't care about those stupid ass statues either. But the notion you can change history by tearing down an object of the past is nonsensical and points to a primitive nature of destructiveness. If one tries hard enough, you can find something insulting and repulsive about anything. Look, I just tore down this statue. :bianconero: Now what? Let's move on to the next thing that makes me feel like a victim.

Fake woke white people are the worst.

I remember when I was at university, this happened a few times.

One girl tried to tell me I was more privileged than her because I was a white straight male. I was making a point that privilege is often, at least here in Australia, more about where you grow up and the socio economic factors. I grew up in a working class suburb, had access to ok public schools and ok private schools. The point I was trying to make was my private school education (barely a private school) had less resources and in turn a lower standard of teacher than public schools in her area.

She didn't know what to say back so she said you're my privileged because you're male. Take into account both her parents are lawyers, own multiple properties in one of Melbourne's most affluent suburbs and she attended one of Melbourne's top schools. Completely ignorant person who is a complete social justice warrior constantly trying to say how little privilege she has.

This same person said well your grandparents (immigrants) chose the wrong part of Melbourne to start their life by not choosing a more affluent suburb. Like my Nonno had a choice when he found a job in a factory that were only on this side of Melbourne.

This same person commented on a documentary we were watching about the origins of hip hop dance at uni (theatre course)
Who when crimping was likened to traditional dances of a people in an African country (can't remember where) blurted out that is pretty racist to assume that the two are connected because the dancers are black. Even though the connection was relevant and the director is African American.

This person is now always banging on about check your privilege, social justice this that.

TLDR
Sheltered idiots posing as warriors for equality are the worst. Probably internally hates herself because her family has been here since the start of white Australia and probably contributed to the attempted genocide of the indigenous Australian population.

Lol they are the worst

my roommates girlfriend is one, except she just drones on about shit and talks down to everyone. But she doesn’t really do anything, I’ve been to three BLM functions and she’s been to zero.

so this weekend we were camping with friends who are black and she’s literally never met a black so starts asking questions about BLM and racism and being an ally and they’re all like yo let’s not get into that, we’re here to fish, drink, have a good time. But of course she pushes on and eventually gets yelled at, completely put in her place, basically told to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up

it was glorious

I really don't get the americans.
This is becoming more and more like that film "Idiocracy"
You're really nuts.

A normal country would've simply persecuted the police men who killed Floyd and that's it but all that's coming?

First Coronavirus then this. what's next? Blacksupremacy with the help of whites :D
nuts in a nutshell

That's the best

The fake ones that are the loudest have the most prejudices. Like all the people that posted the black squares, I wonder how many actually did anything. There are so many people that posted it that I know who know literally nothing about what happened to the indigenous people here.

Someone asked me why I didn't post anything, I just said I felt like donating money to a legal organisation that represents indigenous people was a better and more effective way of showing support.

Hey speaking of tearing down statues, does LeBron have one yet?

When will his get torn down for the whole more than an athlete thing social justice but profiting off slavery in China? :D

Believe me, these people don't give even the slightest shit about contemporary slavery and will happily continue to buy Nike and Apple products, retweet CCP's criticisms of the US. They don't care that is a horrifying dystopia with millions of people in prison camps or slave labor so long as China is a competitor/ enemy of the West.

Lebron is safe.

I don’t get it but they’re moving in together so I am stoked
Hopefully not with you. Btw its hilarious how many white women have jumped on this thing but dont seem to actually give a shit about it beyond wearing it on their sleeve.

Its almost like white women suddenly arent getting all the attention they are used to and subconsiously desperate to get back in the spotlight. its psychotic.
