Today we had an international company meeting where we announced our efforts to root out anti-black racism. In general, I see that as a good thing.

But one white guy said in the Q&A that he'd not only become aware of anti-black violence but also many other minorities who have been abused and killed, including a recent case where some immigration officers in the country murdered a (non-black) immigrant. So he asked a basic question about how we could help raise awareness and help educate ourselves, etc.

Then in a follow-up all-hands Slack channel for the meeting, another white guy called out that guy for unconscious racism -- because he mentioned the murder and discrimination against some minorities who weren't black. And then a bunch of people jumped on the white guy wearing the hairshirt and thanked him and kissed his ass.

No, seriously.

I swear, if there was ever a good time to kill Latinx's and trans people, now would be it. People would be called out for trying to change the subject.

He's signing for Inda
FFS. He was the one young CM that I really wanted. Italian, huge potential, could have been the backbone of our mid for the next decade alongside Bentancur.:sigh:

We miss out on all the young Italians lately. Super annoying.

World is a mess. And it’s going to get worse. We’re beginning to see the backlash to the latest iteration of right wing populism (which itself was a backlash to the left wing identity politics of the last decade lol). Ever since the election of Trump this has been brewing, just needed the right incident to tip it over the edge into chaos. Unfortunately I don’t see it getting better anytime soon. Too much reactionary politicking, and pandering to the Loud jackasses on the fringe.

A more detailed article on Camden PD reform. The notable stat was that excessive force complaints went down by 95%.

I find this wording funny
'Ninety percent of Camden’s population is a minority'
Is it just me? Must be just me

Also why do woke peepo hijack Camden success story and sell it as some sort of police abolishment to the broad public when the police was not abolished, but overhauled with focus on hiring qualified personnel and training them?

How much of this is the fault of sensationalist/ biased media?

Maybe because cooler heads want this kind of reform? You gotta be a gang member or have an IQ lower than Trump to want police abolished.

Yea I'm hoping the actual adults in this situation recognize the merit in police reform, training being the answer while "defund the police" is mere pandering to console the outraged.

They definitely egg it on, and exacerbate the partisan divide. Both the mainstream media on the left and right. All sensationalist, biased, and melting down about every little thing the “other side” does. Fox News, etc during the Obama era. CNN and MSNBC with Trump.

As @AFL_ITALIA put it social media make a stupid idea look more popular than it is. Camden story is good since it gives a direction to the police reform discussions.
