Well not all hope is lost. Florida also voted for amendment 4, which means voting rights will be restored to felons who finished their sentence. Hard to believe 40% of Florida black male population fall under that category.
The fact that Beto was so close makes it much harder to take. Not only he lost by only 2.6 points, but he was ran a full progressive campaign as if h's running in Texas. Campaigned in every single Texas county, which was insane.

It depends on the region, laws, demographics, etc. It’s not a stat representative of black people.
