Cnn comparing it to nazi camps isn't any better, the circus that is Trump brought to the surface all the ugliness in both sides of the aisle.
Comparing anything to Nazi Germany usually is not a smart idea.

What I find most concerning about Trump is that the bar for acceptable behaviour and thoughts seems to have dropped. There is a reason that for decades now we have demanded reasonable behaviour from our leaders. And part of that reason is definitely the hateful and spiteful rhetoric employed by Hitler. That many Americans not only accept Trump's similar rhetorical style, but even encourage him, is definitely reason for concern.

The question remains though if it is smart to make that direct comparison, especially as a big news channel.

Well to be fair, they didn't come out right and make the comparison but rather gave air time and pushed the view of someone who did and who on air admitted he made the comparison to generate buzz :sergio: Trump is a repugnant baboon, i have 0 respect for the man, and the fact that he got elected is more on the Democrats imo who are so up their ass btw i expect them to lose in November

CNN is terrible. What they do is exaggeration and spewing bullshit. Fox is trolling though. They have given their entire network to trolls.

I think it's just a matter of time, Republican party is dead my friend
The republican party that I grew up with, and became a part of, is absolutely dead. And the sad thing is that Shepard is actually the truest conservative on the whole network. The rest of them are cheerleaders for Trumpism, which is about as far from a conservative platform as you could hope for.

I read news. I don't watch it.

That said, seems to me this is an easily solved problem. Sessions rescinds the policy. Parents and kids stay together during the asylum process.

But Trump wants a wall, so he's using children as hostages to get it. Hopefully the Dems don't back down. The wall would be one of the biggest mistakes in US history.

Also, I see a lot of people making excuses to do bad things. In the media, in life. We should probably work on that as we're turning into a country of assholes.

I am 100% certain that if Trump wanted to do something to improve this situation he could do so tomorrow.

If you're the president, there is a huge number of tools at your disposal and I'm sure that if he wanted to he could take preliminary measures.

Yep.

Did anyone see Nikki Haley's comments on why we left the Human Rights Council? She used to be one of the tolerable Republicans.

Why aren't asylum seekers seeking asylum in Mexico?

If I were seeking asylum pretty sure I wouldn't consider Mexico to be safe.
Isn’t Costa Rica supposed to be one of the more welcoming countries for asylum seekers in Central America?

Is it worth it to pay coyotes and make the dangerous run through Mexico rather than a country that you already speak the language?

Organizations have limited capacity: Costa Rica is one of the preferred destinations for Latin American asylum seekers because of its political stability and its position as one of the strongest Spanish-speaking emerging economies on the continent.

I don’t think Mexico really allows it? Who knows. Isn’t it sorta the point of asylum is to seek it at the first country you get to outside of your own?
They have to by international law

You need to educate yourself on definition of asylum and Mexico as a country, it's like saying i wouldn't feel safe in Chicago

Mexico or asylum seekers choosing?

If you claim asylum at least here we have to grant you access until we run you through the system.

Also by entering Mexico, you have de facto escaped whatever danger was making you seek asylum in the first place.
