Whats reallt comical is the backlash from native americans in the US with whim he had no interaction. Not to mention they did worse than the stuff colombus is accused of in matters of abuse and cruelty.
Can we apply the same logic to Palestinians and Israelis?

There is just no way Trump has the attention span necessary to complete any sort of test.

Btw, Trump is really focussing hard on censorship now. Could be what ends him imo.
Yeah somebody has to read the test out loud to him, and after 2 minutes he gets bored and fires the reader.

Im not following, are your saying Palestinians showed more cruelty than Israelis?
Yes, in some cases. For instance these recent knife attacks.
But my point in general is that tribes did a lot of cruel things, much like Columbus. What's different between them and Columbus was that they did not take Columbus' land.

Columbus lived in the 15th century. You just can't compare that to today and think of the taking of land in terms of right or wrong. It's a completely different society. One in which people took land from each other all the time. And then there's the question of how much land Columbus really took anyway. Columbus himself didn't settle in the Americas and died in Spain.

It is utterly ridiculous to make Columbus the figure of all that is wrong with colonization.

Practical me sees the logic in Israels actions, legal and empathic me will denounce some of those actions.

Columbus imho is a great man of history, he believed in an idea,, worked hard to make it reality, not only did he secure an audience with monarchs he convinced them! It would be like me succeeding in meeting with trump to convince him to finance a trip to Middle Earth to bring dwarves to build his golf resorts. And imagine being the leader of those ships midway with everyone turning against you, nah without a doubt one of the greatest explorers to ever live.
As for Columbus the governor he sucked but not in the proportions painted in the mainstream.

No doubt Columbus was a great man of history. My point was there is no moral equivalence between his (or in general Europeans') type of cruelty and those of Indians. Don't get me wrong, I hate this identity politics, and believe it'll do nothing but to divide people. But we can't alter history either.

The obvious question is how long is too long? It cannot be answered easily. I can very much compare what Israelis did to Palestine to what Europeans did to the Indian tribes, and in either case the solution is not to go back in history and change everything.
