Depends on your country's structure. And government is government, whether it be at city. State or federal level.
we were talking about the US, and states like texas dont have income tax and they still provide safety and other amenities, humane existence is a mix of choices and help in the community no need to regulate that, and the best way to let people make something out of themselves is to stay out of their business and stop trying to favor one group over the other, let the market speak.

and the nature of the aid is even more disgusting:

How does this get stopped? Who do I have to talk to? It's ridiculous.

Thank you. But that will fall on deaf ears.

Agreed. And that is one country I'd be cool knocking off the nipple list.

Well, stop taking the Huffington Post serious for starters. :D

Seriously, probably write your congressman would be a start.

then it's better if it's small to limit the damage it can cause

They can certainly take care of themselves.

I don't, but it's most likely for military purposes anyway. I can't even imagine the amount of letters they get from the hyper-Zionists here though.

Market forces alone so often fail to bring the greatest benfits though. Seriously, I know I said this already somewhere a few weeks ago, but I've yet to discover a single convincing model not relying on strong government intervention that does not end up in drastic inequality and poverty for large parts of the population.

I almost posted that link here today I kid you not, X. When I saw that I thought immediately if this discussion on how "great" Europe is right now.
Protesting is the national sport of France.

Truth is though that there are job cuts in these huge companies with increasing frequency, with jobs even being outsourced to smaller "socialist" countries in the EU. One benefit/drawback, depending where you stand.

Btw while @Hustini you lament 33 billion of foreign aid (parts of that going to legitimately important projects), the 500 largest US-cooporations got ~2.1 trillion of profits offshore to avoid taxes. That alone would bring ~600 billion dollars.

You know who plans to address that? Trump.

As long as the jobs stay in the EU then what are Europeans to worry about? :touched:
