Even if there were cases in the US already isn't the whole point of all the actions we've taken to slow the spread? Nobody thinks you'll prevent it completely but You know, limit the number of infected folks coming in and spreading it to different areas? to prevent the system being overwhelmed?

But now a travel ban "had zero use" since it was already here? That's how far we're gonna go to resist giving Trump credit for anything?

The travel ban was so ineffective because of the lack of testing in the US. If it had been coordinated with proper testing and airport screening from around the world early on, it would have been a much better step. But Trump admin refused the early WHO test kits that actually worked and tried to have their own developed which didn’t work and were faulty and disastrously missed the early mass testing required to slow the initial massive wave and contain this. Context is important.

Travel ban = good. But by itself without the other steps required, its ineffective.

Anyways, to be fair to this admin, most countries sucked ass dealing with this to begin. But some also jumped on mass testing and contact tracing early on and did much better for it.
