Ah, Evergreen State College. You can't say that represents Amerikkka though.

Because people feel empowered to believe that they know better than everyone else at everything.

And those economies are very highly dependent on tourism. Good luck balancing the budget this year.

Dude, I was in the Place de la Republique during that. :D

That's the patronizing noble savage myth at it again. "Society was so peaceful and fair when indigenous peoples ran this land." Yeah, and so was murdering other tribes at random, raping women, and executing trans people as cursed by the spirits.
:agree:

A single example would be just the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs. They conquered the Aztec empire with a very small Spanish force, because they found eager allies in the surrounding peoples, who hated the Aztecs due to a long history of oppression. At the time of conquest, they’d been sacrificing in the range of 10-20,000/year.

Now though, it’s all a myth, and the Aztecs were peaceful, benevolent rulers, beloved by everyone, until genocided by the evil Spaniards alone.

Sorry, but those sacrifices were necessary

Prescient microcosm, if you had watched this a year ago and listened to the last 5 minutes you'd think he was erring on the side of hyperbole, the events of the past few weeks say otherwise. @AFL_ITALIA @swag @Quetzalcoatl

That place sounds like a cult from its inception, doing things like that since the 70s.

i want to move to Denver or Boulder. I think the main thing preventing me is that I have lived in CA my entire life and everyone and everything i know is here.
I've heard only great things about Boulder. All the pictures I see of it look beautiful too.

First time I saw police and firefighters fighting each other.
What were you doing there ?
Seriously. As an outsider, stepping into that melee, I had to do a threat assessment to figure out who was on what side for what purpose at first.

I was there getting certified as an ecosystem platform design facilitator. No, I am not making that up. The building it was held in for several days was right on the square, and you couldn’t help but hear the constant sounds of small bombs and had to go out to see what was what during breaks.

Good example.

For a minute I thought this could have turned into a Frequentist vs Bayesian trope. But it’s better than that. :) Thanks

Should be started again. Seattle autonomous zone good place to find first sacrificial victims.
@Quetzalcoatl

I think Chicago has earned their rain might wanna let em know sooner rather than later.
Doesn't matter what method of sacrifice or from where - CHAZ white allies volunteering themselves, Chicagoans gangbanging or Miami beach COVID victims - but 25,000 more are needed by November or Trump stays in for another term

POTUS/Administration sent a midnight filing to SCOTUS to strike down the entirety of ACA. So is he making this is campaign focus now? First immigration, now ACA?

SCOTUS will pick this case up in October right before the election, that's why I ask. They don't come into session again until October.

Forza Juveffe.

Likely to fall on Roberts again to split the 4-4 difference so unlikely to be overturned IMO.

How is repealing a health insurance program a successful campaign issue during a pandemic?
No idea. Honestly, no idea why it would be wise for a reelection either. That's why I'm asking, I'm wondering if healthcare (lol Republicans will make it better, remember ...ugh, /sarcasm there since people can't read my sarcasm :p) is the new campaign promise...

I think it's just sticking it to Obama. With Trump there is usually no underlying motive. He had 4 years for a healthcare program and did not even touch it despite signs that it was a big election issue in 2018. If he really thought of a program he would propose something before trying to repeal ACA.
Edit: by the way I did get your sarcasm.

trump’s goal is to get rid of anything Obama did. That’s the same reason he got rid of the pandemic prevention group that would’ve helped the country control this disease a lot better.

and honestly, sticking it to Obama is probably one of the best things he can do as far as a majority of his support base is concerned.
