Of course the world won't have ended by tomorrow, no nuclear war will break out and we're going to have a bit longer for WWIII than some hysterics claim.

But it's still going to be some disastrous four years for the US and the whole world. Ffs, you've got a guy not believing in climate change in charge of the second largest GH gas emitter in the world, backed by a congress largely skeptical of that as well.

And is Hillary now officially the worst candidate in the history of elections? The only good thing to come out of this shit if probably the strengthening of the Sanders/Warren wing of the democrats.

Trump is bringing the US on the brink of civil war. This is not someone like Bush. It's not as if you might not support the guy, but be okay with him being president. This goes right to the bone. But unless Trump supporters light a muslim on fire later today (which is not unlikely imo), no civil war will erupt and we'll all be fine in four years time, albeit in a different world with a different and diminished role for the USA.

I am very confident that you'll be fine in the end. America will change a lot in the coming years and I think after 4 years of Trump we will see an almost socialist president take over. America's role in the world will also greatly change. I expect many European leaders in particular to think about Europe's future and realise that they need Europe to be stronger and depend less on the US.

But even Trump cannot singlehandedly destroy the fine country that is the USA.
Not gonna happen if half of Europe leaders are gonna be of the likes of Le Pen, Orban, Kaczynski, Strache,...

Hillary is officially the worst candidate of my lifetime for sure. But I'm only 23 :p

Did I argue any different? :D

But look at the policies Trump, backed by a GOP congress will enact: Trickle down economics, repeal Obamacare, target Gay marriage, abortion, deoprtations (not as many as he promised, but still), repeal existing climate change agreements & blocking any future ones....

Not to mention an incredibly conservative biased supreme court for the next decades.

It won't be the end of the world or the US, but it's going backwards at a rapid pace, and that's not even mentioning the increased international tension and geopolitical problems likely to ensue.

Yeah no idea how bad someone like McGovern or Dole were, but that race really should've been a slam dunk for a democratic candidate.

Will it be a controversy that she won the popular vote?
Probably not, but it should be.

But it has happened before and any outrage died down relatively quickly, so...

I always said if Hillary won we would see a conservative in 4 years and if Trump won we would see a socialist in 4 years. Perhaps Elizabeth Warren.
Quite honestly, she would have beaten Trump yesterday.

Clinton committed the cardinal sin of campaigning. She allowed her surrogates to be more compelling than her. Mrs. Obama had some incredible stump speeches. Warren, here in the New England area, gave speeches like a rock star.

Trump, for all of his faults, never ever let anyone upstage him.

Agreed. I think Bernie or even Biden would have defeated Trump as well.

It's a pity for the Supreme Court, but let's not forget that if you get to be Supreme Court Justice, you're not some average schmuck. Even Scalia drew the line somewhere.

Imo the biggest disaster is the notion that half of the American public voted for Trump. And they will have had their reasons.

Will it be a controversy that she won the popular vote?
It will be a problem, yes. Many of Trump's supposed ideas are incredibly divisive. If you really want to implement them, you need a far stronger majority.

Good old Norbert. Let's see how it develops. No doubt the Eurocrats with Juncker will stay in denial. Bunch of elitist blind monkeys :inter:
I doubt they'll stay in denial tbh. They're already facing Brexit. Now they've seen what a populist can do. And Europe isn't popular among the common man.
