No idea.

I hate the question though. It's not like individual countries can truly stop inflation.

And I do know this: Trump intends to weaken the dollar as part of his economic policy. It's difficult to stop inflation, but that idea will definitely accellerate it.

Weakening the dollar is great news for people with a lot of debt and a lot of assets though. I wonder if old Donald knows someone like that...

It's a normal question any politic will get if the country he is in deals with inflation. I don't see anything wrong in the question. The answer though, if she is starting in elections at kindergarten then maybe that's the answer kids want to hear.

It's a question that implies that governments have the ability to completely control the economy. That's not how it works. Inflation is driven by both internal and external factors and the reality is that there is almost always some inflation.

The question should be about what economic measures she would take to improve the lives of the average American.

Of course government has tools to fight it, not completely nullify it, but to soften the burden that citizens has to take.
https://www.investopedia.com/ask/an...hods-can-government-use-control-inflation.asp
But that's not even a point here. She gets a question and brings up what inflation is. This is the answer that for me, as in my country we are also dealing with it, completely writes off the candidate. She either thinks we are idiots or she is an idiot.
But as I said, my first thought was that it is made up, as I don't believe u can give such a silly answer.

If you're voting on substance and policy, you can't vote for Trump either.

Trump has almost never given a straight answer. He just babbles. The last time he actually did answer a question was about Covid and he suggest people inject bleach. He's a moron and on top of that he's held on a leash by everyone he has debts with.

Lol I know, he just comes out and says it at this point. People are so used to his rants they don't actually listen to what he says.

But basically he has literally stated no one will need to vote again once they vote him in and that he will support good policy for whoever pays him off. And that's just the past week.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is Harris’ VP nominee.

Goes to show how much Israel Hamas war is a factor. Shapiro seemed like an obvious candidate but his past comments on Israel, and his volunteer work in Israel many years ago doomed him.

Interesting that Walz is the first on Dem ticket since 1980 that is not a lawyer.

It's a fine line to walk.

Trump chose sides and just went with Israel. It seems he believes the majority of Americans will welcome that attitude. I'm not so sure. A lot of Americans are critical towards Israel and Trump's comments have completely alienated them.

It’s about youth vote, and also Michigan IMO.
I read an interesting anecdote on Twitter that says pro Palestine protestors on social media are of 2 groups: the ones with watermelon emoji and the ones with red flag. Team watermelon is genuinely critical of how Biden handled the situation but don’t wanna see it all burned to the ground and were warming up to Harris. Red flag ones are straight up communists and they just pretend that they’re open to persuasion. In reality, they’re too militant to be attracted by either party. They either don’t vote or vote for Stein or West.
I think Harris campaign were worried that red flaggers (and Trump bots) use Shapiro’s past to persuade more of the watermelon crowd. Not too dissimilar to 2016 when a lot of people were too disillusioned to vote. Margins are too small not to take this into consideration.

Walz has the gift of being able to put thoughts and ideas in very simple phrases while still having a meaningful message.

I don't really know him, but that's a very important quality for any politician to have.

I don't know much about Walz, but he seems like a very underwhelming pick to me. The whole ticket is crap, IMO.

But anybody is probably better than someone named Shapiro.

No, Trump actually won the nomination. Harris was hired.
Dude, she is literally the Vice President right now. And this has nothing to do with DEI.

You're making me like Harris way more than I ever have. Just stop!

Walz is a fantastic pick, he literally appeals to unions, blue collar workers, rurul background, is a former military man, a true family man, literally appeals to everyone that Trump can only wish he could appeal to.

Basically any appeal that Harris may lack to certain demographics, Walz picks up the slack, which is more than what can be said about that phony shady vance who called Trump America's Hitler, running with a guy who attacks bi racial Americans despite Vance having bi racial kids of his own...

Harris/Walz ticket is a winner!

This is the ticket winner right now.

In all my years on tuz I have almost rarely if ever posted in the political threads until now... But honestly I'm really concerned, yes I don't live in the US but I feel the American elections will dictate what sort of world we will live in.

I care about democracy, fairness and justice. The thought of Trump 2.0 will be 1000x worse than Trump v1, the thought this unhinged mad man will divide and conquer will affect the world we live in. I don't want some lunatic like Trump to be trusted with the launch codes of nukes whilst he's busy calling Putin out as an ally, and fuck knows what sort of classified secrets he's sharing with the Russians.
