I'm hoping that if Trump loses then it starts to reverse course.
It's no longer a question of if, but when.

The momentum has shifted and Trump is now on the defensive, but if there's one thing he can't do it's defend. He's still deflecting and attacking, but it's just making things worse.

At the NABJ convention the first question was why black Americans should trust him after all the hurtful language he used to describe people of their race. The way in which the journalist framed the question tells me that the gloves are off, Trump is down and they are going to kick him any way they can. His response was meek to say the last, he called the question 'rude'. He's getting the living shit kicked out of him and all he can say is how rude and mean people are to him. He's so weak these days lol.

None of this might matter at the end but Trump scores Gattiesque own goals
Funny thing is he's right. VPs really don't matter.

That is, unless your P is older than Elton John.

I think at this point both parties are more focused on turn out than swing votes. This is the most identity based election ever imo
The margins still matter. So those three retards in Wisconsin who haven't made up their minds still hold power over the entire country. But you do that with targeted campaigning.

What we have here is just activating the base and locking in.

And identity has become more important than policy it seems. So big W for the "Look! There goes Elvis!" strategy by the moneyed elites during Occupy.

But I'm wondering if it worked out too well for them and now they don't know how to stop the beast.

You think so? I’m still in “the economy, stupid” camp.
Problem is there's COVID economy and post-COVID economy and soon post-post-COVID economy. I think our insights pretty much suck despite what the policy wonks want to lecture us about.

Well seeing as the whole kamala pick was to get women vote en masse, i think abortion trumps economy for that gender. Trump might score better with minorities this time around because of the economy, but i dont see it as the determining factor, or not as important as getting more whites to go out and vote.
Well, she was the VP. You only blow over the VP unless a) you think you really made a bad choice, b) the VP thwarted your plans to interfere with election validation after storming the Capitol, c) the Dems want to signal to the Black women who saved their asses that they'd burn her in a heartbeat.

I prefer the idea of an open primary, but in this environment that's a lot of last-minute chaos for both parties. If Trump was complaining about having a reset after using the RNC to target Biden, he'd have to sit on his hands for a whole extra month.

it’s been trending that was since the 80s, less and less platform, more and more identity
They say it's about votes, but it's also about buying the Trump flags and other merch or wearing a man-bun in yoga class.

What an absolute car crash Q and A with the NABJ
I give him credit for the courage to face a hostile audience. However, he clearly has zero skills in that arena. That just reinforced a lot of what people thought ahead of time and surely did little to dissuade his base.

This Obama birtherism rehashed by Trumps camp. Like campaigning on pure unfiltered loud noise racist othering.

But they being more overt and open in rhetoric with Harris, because thats how bad the current social climate has become.

Apparently the concept of being mixed is alien to racists. How can she claimed to be Indian? Because her mother is. How come she claimed after she is black? Because her father is black Jamaican.

Mind blowing concept for bigots.

P.S English is her first language and she still said "who my roots are"?
As much as I don't like Kamala as a careerist politician who does what little she has to in order to step ahead, she's run out of Peter Principle steps. So I don't know what version we would get.

The thing that made me think she especially had a shot despite all that is she brings out the worst in her opposition. All the "deport them", "these immos are too lazy to work and are taking our jobs!", "blacks burn buildings and live in sh*thole cities", standard hatred vitriol is going to flare out like a galactic hemorrhoid on the worst, most clueless parts of their base. Trump's team is going to feel attacked on two fronts, with one from within his own base for how they're going to discredit his ideas and say all the silent things out loud.

It's a shame Trump's team pulled the plug when he was asked about project 2025, I recon that would have sealed his fate. The Q and A definitely did more harm and no good came of it from his perspective.

The VP question really didn't look good in how he answered, to basically not endorse JD Vance when he had the opportunity to do so.

Whether Kamala is presidential material I'd another question, what I do know is, she can't be any worse than Trump, and I hope people at least lean into that.

He’s not wrong but he’s not answering the question. He’s answering another question which is not asked and kind of shows his doubts over Vance.
On the economy, I mean the issue that’s most important to the voters.

I do think it damn funny that Trump thought he could win favor with a hostile audience of black journalists by trying to out Kamala as an Indian who was late to trying to pull a Rachel Dolezal. That's just masterful level of cluelessness.

For reference, this is brief clip of what Gregs alluding to.

You can say it to almost ANY clip regarding trump (except when he talked economics/china in the past, he made ok points then), but it still needs to be said. How can anyone watch this buffoon talk and immediately think this is my leader, my president?

Y'll heard what this Donald kid said? it cracked me up, I'll show it to Churchill, it get him up off his seat for sure:

"I think Viagra is wonderful if you need it, if you have medical issues, if you've had surgery. I've just never needed it. Frankly, I wouldn't mind if there were an anti-Viagra, something with the opposite effect. I'm not bragging. I'm just lucky. I don't need it." - Trump

I believe him.

It takes 30-60 minutes for Viagra to take effect.

Rapists don't have that kind of time.
