Well at what point do you draw the line? When does human life begin? You can sit there and belittle the unborn as simply "just embryos" but this is the problem when abortion is deemed 'acceptable' up to certain dates. It's so arbitrary. What rights does a unborn kid have, say, one day after exactly 6 weeks as opposed to the day before (i.e. when the law permits an abortion can take place), and why? These are valid philosophical questions which the pro-abortion side never address. In my view, you should either be in favor of abortion up to and including birth or just not support the practice at all. I prefer the latter (unless the mother's life is at risk)
An embryo is a nothing. No heartbeat, no real development into a separate life yet. Nothing. There is nothing in common with a baby and an embryo. If they want to develop a technique to extract embryos from the womb and grow them instead of abortions, by all means do that instead of abortions ( lol at the world ever managing to slow down population growth then).

But it is beyond retarded to equate aborting an embryo at 6-10 weeks with aborting a foetus at 20 weeks, let alone a 32 week abortion of a baby that can easily survive outside the womb. And it is incredibly disingenuous to do so. There’s a reason the anti-abortion movement doesn’t ever talk about embryonic abortions but instead goes for shock value with late stage abortion info to try to win people to their cause. Because embryonic abortion isn’t an issue for majority of people who aren’t religious weenies.

But sure, let’s ban all abortions, create more unwanted children, and go for more overpopulation issues in this already massively overpopulated world. Good plan. :baus:

My question is regarding the killing of developing human beings. Can it be argued biologically that they're not already distinct humans? That's the uncomfortable truth for me because I haven't seen a convincing argument for it.

I understand all the other arguments @Ronn, you and the rest of society have come up to justify abortion. I would even support my girlfriend getting one as I'm not ready for a kid but I know it's for my own convenience. It does make me uncomfortable to think about unborn humans getting killed though.
I am fully "pro-choice" or whatever the phrase used these days is, but I mostly agree. Yes an embryo is not a life, but left alone it would still become one.

So you didn't answer my question. Got it. Instead of defining at what point personhood begins, you made abortion a case for depopulation :baus: this really speaks volume about the state of some people's morals.
Since the point of abortion is not to kill the fetus but to protect the "woman's right to bodily integrity", the cutoff would be when it can survive outside the womb. At that point, it is possible to get it out of the woman's body without killing it. An unborn infant cannot survive outside the womb at 20 weeks after gestation, an infant is only viable after 24 weeks when A. there is a minimal chance of survival and B. at that point, the baby has a heartbeat (which it has had since the 6th week, hence why its called the heartbeat bill literally for that very reason), can feel pain and move around e.t.c. so I ask again, what is the rationale behind these arbitrary cut-off dates that supposedly define when someone develops their personhood? There's no point continuing this discussion because you and I both have different opinions on when life begins and we will just end up going around in circles.

I did not say they don’t have access to abortion. I simply explained Texas law. Your initial argument and 6 weeks number is very much dishonest by your own admission.
I love the word "access". It makes it sound like a level in a video game.

My body, my choice... what an outdated concept :p
Sounds more like a slogan for the non-binary and trans movement.

It is a pity that they have not yet discovered means to prevent pregnancy.... oh wait....
Oh, we talkin' breakthrough pregnancies now...

What? I defined the stage where abortions are entirely acceptable as before an embryo becomes a foetus, with significant development towards actually becoming a living being. Which is 10 weeks or thereabouts.

Again, suggesting aborting an embryo is somehow murder is the height of stupidity. One could begin to make the argument in the fetal stage, even though I disagree with it, I can understand where those arguments come from, but the retards equating 0-10 week old embryos getting aborted with murder are imbeciles.

But the Christian Right has proved time again they only give a shit about unborn babies. As soon as they are born, fuck’em. If they are born into poverty, fuck their right to health care, fuck their right to clean water and air, fuck their right to proper nourishment, fuck their right to a good education. :baus:

Intrauterine device. It's more than 99% effective at preventing pregnancy.
Vasectomies like 100% effective and mostly reversible. You should get a vasectomy if you aren’t ready to have kids yet. :boh:
