Juventus After Muntari?


Ghanaian international midfielder Sulley Muntari is reportedly on the summer shopping list of Italian giants Juventus...
The Portsmouth player has impressed so far this season in the Premiership with his English club side, and appears to have caught the fancy of the Old Lady of Italian football.

The 23 year old is also said to be attracting interest from other Premiership club sides like Manchester United and Liverpool.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Muntari has been included in coach Claudio Ranieri’s shopping-list for the summer.

The former Udinese player was incidentally rejected by the club last year as former Juventus boss Didier Deschamps was not interested in acquiring the services of the Ghanaian before he decided to move to Fratton Park.

Muntari, 23, represented the Black Stars of Ghana at this year's Africa Cup of Nations.

I think no one could get past Sissoko and Muntari unless they play a looooooong ball over them. Would be a very strong midfield but I prefer to have a more creative midfielder next to Momo(Aquilani)

Not sure how many red cards as i cant be bothered looking it up but it must be said that he is a very good player and i was surprised the club snubbed him.

Once again we are rumoured to a destroyer in midfield, it does make one wonder whether we'll bring in somsone who can create from a central position.

No frightened to shoot on sight and has genuine pace.

On the downside, he has a very short fuse and his red card likelihood would be a worry

Why do we have to splash around £7m on Muntari when we can land Flamini, who has a good experience in Europe, on a free transfer?! I think it's a daily rumour anyway.

We should keep our money for snapping up a creative midfielder. Someone like VDV or Quaresma would be good.

I would call him anything but washed up. He still has a few good years in him.

We badly need a quick player who can play on the wings. The flat 4-4-2 which we adopt doesn't require the two centre midfielders to be that creative. Zanetti does the job perfectly with his passes, Sissoko with his dynamics and hopefully Flamini soon. We depend more on our wingers and their tactical awareness for more creativity, that's good if you ask me but we still need some pace.

Dule, we can buy Quaresma. His transfer fee won't be more than £18m, and we can pay them on instalments, like we always do.
