Nonono, I just meant to say that only 1% of people might actually do this simply because most of us can't. So this comparison to a dictatorship and what would you do doesn't really go, seeing as most of us CAN'T do anything. Not really, anyway :)
Actually, it's a fairly similar situation to a dictatorship, since most people have been brainwashed and no longer have the mental capacity for any kind of rebellion. ;)

In the end, regardless of what you really understand, all you need to know is that there is a free option available which is almost as good as Microsoft's expensive, propriety one.

By the way, I'm reading http://www.gnu.org/gnu/thegnuproject.html in another window right now. Anyone who is interested in open source (apart from Martin, who's undoubtedly already read it) should have a look.
There is a movie that describes the open source project, how it all started and what the status is. It was made in 2001 and I thought it was very enlightening. If you get a chance to watch "Revolution OS", do it. They tried to make it understandable for everyone, not just people in the biz.

I suppose it's a good solution for bad acting attention seekers...
I think they pretty got all the attention they needed from programming ;) It's not like those movies are even shown in cinemas :)

Sigh. I try to make that geek look at least somewhat normal and here you go, defying all logic again. What is it with you and your people? :D

Just because they did a good thing releasing their software to the world community it doesn't mean they're perfect human beings, no one is. :)

While we're here, I found the meaning of GNU finally.

    It means GNU's Not Unix.
But what's GNU mean you ask?
