Saw The Hangover and Knowing in the past few days.

Knowing was really good, but the last 20 mins or so were a bit gay.

Hangover is just absolutely amazing, I didn't stop laughing. Fat Jesus hahaha

I watched The Watchmen and it blew me away. Don't know what the fans are all about, it's a brilliant movie.

It was a good film, i wasnt a brilliant film and it wasnt a bad film, it was a good film. In its conception as a film, 20 years after the novel was written, it faced a massive problem. Mainly that the majority of the audience wouldnt have a fucking clue what the point of the film is/was and im guesing that you even missed a lot of it, same reason that i did, because im not in the context of the film so i cant understand the politics of fear that were present in the 80s which this was reflecting. Second to this was that the vast majority of the acting was god aweful. I mean it wasnt bad, it was aweful, the only character that was even slightly convincing was Rorschach.

Finally im guesing as you have only just seen it, you caught the directors cut, which apparently makes the film feel completely different to the cinema release.

A nice dose of holywood defined history? Theres a reason that Claus von Stauffenberg's family have refused to achknowledge the film and one of the main reasons is that tom cruise produced and stared as their grandfather.
I didnt watch it to get a history lesson as im already familar with WW2.

I watched it for entertainment and I was entertained.

I read the book and I also loved the movie. No, the acting wasn't horrible and yes, the directors cut apparently fills in very important parts that were missing. I look forward to watching the director's cut when the dvd comes out.

Public Enemies: Some nice gunfights, but otherwise, there wasn't really much there. Dillenger is the hero and the FBI are the villians for the most part.

That basically how it was looked upon by the US population at the time. 1930's bank robbers had a bit of a Robinhood mystique to them.
