@andy-i think you need to realize that Watchmen was written in the 80's and is more a commentary on the potential escalation of the cold war. sure you can then say that modern times have made the "home-made terror" seem a contemporary issue but while the writers of this great piece of fiction were good they were not trying to be nostradamus!
