Not only that, I believe that he doesn't know how to exploit the violence scenes potential capabilities in the right direction. Much of the violence being involved in his movies is utterly unnecessary. I'm not against violence in movies, not at all, but let me give you an example; Tarantino placed violence in Pulp Fiction near perfect but then he lost the right way in Kill Bills.
Some years ago, sex scenes in movies could bring a hell amount of dollars for the producers. Many of those scenes were necessary to lead the movie's goal but some of them on the other hand only aimed at the box-office. Now that the world is gonna go crazy, people tend to ENJOY watching movies full of sickening violence scenes and I think Mel Gibson is more thinking about satisfying that group of viewers rather than to mind his movie's main purpose (unless his main purpose is to satisfy that sick group of people
