i am not a fan of Mann either, find his movies are always more style than substance
I love that film. I showed it to some friends last year and they all loved it.

Sometimes it's enough. Sometimes it's not.
A little more about Public Enemies:

Depp plays John Dillinger, Stephen Graham plays Baby-Face Nelson, and Channing Tatum plays Pretty-Boy Floyd. It's about the three notorious gangsters and the Feds that attempt to bring them down. Bill Crudup plays J. Edgar Hoover and Christian Bale is Melvin Purvis, his top agent. The cast for this film is out of this world. Marion Colilard, Giovania Ribisi, Stephen Dorf, among others, are in supporting roles.

A little background, Dillinger and his boys basically rob banks at will until Hoover decides to stop them. Could be a really good movie.
Sounds good, can't wait for the film's release

Well I'm absolutely sure there will be a lot of killing and the killing will be cool. Whether the film's substance reaches the level of it's cast is up in the air. That said, it has huge potential.

I haven't seen Frost/Nixon but I gather that Valkyrie is not better. Frost/Nixon is nominated for just about every movie award out there. If I had a choice between the two I'd go with Frost/Nixon.
That's what I though.

Negotiations for what is to be seen tomorrow night are ongoing.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you want a movie that offers some sort of intellectual perspective on a historical event in addition a great performances go with Frost/Nixon. If you're just looking to be entertained then go with Valkyrie. Also you might want to take into account the length of the films. Valkyrie wasn't too long if I remember.

Frost/Nixon sounds more appealing to me, while Valkyrie appeals more to the other folk.

I'll get beaten on a majority vote, so I might go in a huff and refuse to go out. :D

Huffing generally works for me. Either that or just get in front of your friends and purchase a ticket to what you want to see. Don't say anything and go into the Frost/Nixon theater. Either your friends will follow or you'll have an excuse to get pissed. Win:Win;)
