the deer hunter is crap but mean girls is awesome?

interesting...

note to self-completely disregard any recommendations from IZ,he is obviously mentally retarded
The deer hunter is not entertaining, nor is it a masterpiece, Mean girls is a highly entertaining film which is underrated by many out of elitism due to the premise.

I love all types of films but the Deer Hunter frankly bored the arse off me, and I watch Lawrence of Arabia often. Everything about it, the pace of the story progression, the dialogue, the storyline itself is mule, a fairly stellar cast that doesn't carry the film. The bit at the end? Christopher Walken acting seriously mentally scarred, as you fucking kidding me? That's like asking modern Adam Sandler to make a funny film.

When you hold the Deer Hunter up with the godfather, the third man, etc etc as if they are equal you're a movie fanboy.

There performances were underwhelming imo, certainly compared to their other work. Powerful my ass, you can barely connect with such thinly veiled characters.

Maybe, if it was the first Vietnam film one had seen, but I only saw in last week for the first time and then again today.

One wouldn't be moved by a holocaust film very much with regard to having seen Schindler's List and The boy in the striped PJs of WW2 after Saving Pvt Ryan and Band of Brothers.

Movies are only moving when you you haven't empthatised with the exact emotional experience a thousand times
