Yeah you can say its vastly overhyped overrated by the masses who got sucked into the massive marketing and there being nothing to compete with at the time. But the movie itself is good, real good, its not actually awful, thats just exaggerating for the heck of it.

Watched Wild Strawberrys by Ingmar Bergmann (sp?)

Beautiful film, i really enjoy Ingmar's work and this was an interesting take on the 'old man looking back on his life' story, somewhat innocent compared to how hollywood deal with the same narrative.

I was listening to an interview with Crew on Kermodes show and apparently its far more political, its based aroung the Magna Carta and the Forest Laws, is that any good? anything has got to be better than prince of thieves.

indeed, was surprised in which direction they took the film, gave it a lot more depth than expected.

Shame especially with Ridley Scott directing it. With films like Gladiator and Black Hawk Down under his belt which were rather violent and gory I'd wish this would be the same.

I guess they didn't want to make it all blood and guts, that would be an injustice to the tale...I liked it this way a lot more.
