Blandest, you'll never get to know the real me. The real me comes out in real life, not on a forum.
But Andy, I used to enjoy your posts. I used to enjoy exchanges with you. Maybe that's not the "real" of anyone on a forum, but it's no less real than a phone conversation you might have with someone you've had prior discussions with.
So some people have pissed you off for what you see as a biased and unfair application of banning rules, etc. I can appreciate that. And in response, there's a road one can take the requires a certain level of character from a person. And then there are other paths -- akin to inviting Burke to a party and pissing on and wiping your shit on everything around you to trash everything and everybody in a given radius.
Maybe it's a form of personal catharsis and makes you feel better in the short term. But from a different perseptive, say from someone who is more of a bystander in all of this, it's wanton glee in destructiveness and creating a blight for targets you both intend and don't intend. In some ways, that's not all that different than what motivated the people who took down the WTC.
Of course you are entitled to do whatever you want until someone forces you otherwise. But if any acquaintance that I exchanged dialog and debate with took a path like this in any other walk of life, whether on a forum or in person, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness about that person being motivated to behave in such a disrespectful way -- disrespectful to others
and themselves.
