Zdenek Grygera looks set to head away from Ajax after rejecting their latest contract offer and a move to Italy seems to be his likely next port of call.

The talented defender has been a super servant to Ajax, but he seems set to head for a new challenge.

"It's clear that he wants a new challenge," Ajax coach Henk ten Cate told the club's website. "It's a pity that he will be leaving, because he is a super professional and a great lad."

Juventus and Internazionale are both in the hunt for the Czech Republic stopper and he seems keen to head to Italy.

"There is no change in what I have already said - that I would like to play in Italy one day," said Grygera.

Grygera's agent has confirmed Inter and Juve are vying for the signature of his client and the defender admits it would be tough to choose between the two.

"Both these offers would be very tempting and it would be very difficult to choose the better one," he said. "It would depend on the final offer."

Steven Gerrard, uno dei protagonisti delle vittorie dei reds negli utlimi anni potrebbe cambiare maglia alla fine della stagione. Gli attriti con il tecnico Rafa Benitez vanno avanti da un po' di tempo ormai e sembra difficile che i due possano riconciliarsi.

Il giocatore non gradisce la nuova posizione in campo, defilata sulla destra, che il tecnico spagnolo gli ha riservato lasciando la posizione centrale al neo acquisto Sissoko. Il 25enne ha sottolineato più volte di non gradire la nuova ubicazione in campo ma Benitez ha continuato per la sua strada preferendogli sempre il giovane 21enne del Mali. Solo ora che Sissoko è infortunato, Gerrard è riuscito a riprenderesi la posizione preferita in campo, posizone che con tutta probabilità è destianto a perdere nel futuro prossimo, quando il giocatore del Mali avrà recuperato dall'infortunio alla spalla.

A fine stagione Il Liverpool potrebbe trovarsi dunque di fronte ad una scelta importante: quella di privarsi del centrocampista o quella di rinunciare ad uno dei tecnici più vincenti degli ultimi anni. La prima ipotesi sembra al momento la più percorribile anche tenendo conto del fatto che il Liverpool sembra avere già in casa il sostituto. Momo Sissoko, arrivato in estate dal Valencia, dopo la prima parte di campionato sembra poter dare tutte la garanzie necessarie, nonostante la giovane età.

In vista di questa eventualità, sono molti i club che potrebbero gettarsi sul giocatore. In patria è sicuramente il Chelsea la formazione più accreditata al suo acquisto. I blues lo avrebbero seguito già quest'anno ma il Liverpool fu inamovibile. In Spagna, le voci portano al solito Real Madrid, che si sarebbe già fatto vivo. Ma anche l'Italia è una destinazione tutt'altro che improbabile. Milan e Inter hanno dimostrato già in passato di gradire il giocatore ma potebbe essere la Juventus, che l'anno prossimo vuole tornare subito a grandi livelli, la principale pretendente, con il tecnico Deschamps che non ha mai fatto mistero di volere un centrocampista di valore le cui carattersitiche corrispondono in pieno a quelle dell'inglese. Certo la dirigenza bianconera dovrà fare un investimento importante, circa 25 milioni, per portarlo a Torino. L'argentino Javier Mascherano ed il giovane Lassana Diarra del Chelsea sarebbero le valide alternative..
