poor Uruguay NT
actually he still plays brilliantly for his NT. And he's a brilliant leader, excellent example for the youngsters and a nice guy in general, that's why his still in the team. Show some respect, he was one of the best CBs just few years ago and he's going to retire in summer.

I think Legro would have been ideal against Liverpool, with Thuram and Canna alongside him he would have been fine.

Shame he was on loan...and out injured....

I have to agree.. Montero may have missed almost 2 seasons because of suspenssions, he used to be a very strong deffenders. I'll be happy if such a player ended his career with us..
You cannot say this behavior isn't sometimes funny lol..
Do you guys remember Celta Vigo's game when we lost badly.. Montero was sent off... Did you see what Montero was doing afterwards LOL.... Please if anyone has a clip of this part please post it.. It was really shocking lol..
Montero once said: "I hate players who cheat... If they don't like my tacle they go speak with the Ref.. Thats not right.. if they have a problem with me they should come and speak with my directly"
He was once asked why did you punch Dibiaggio, he answered: "Well I like to win"

To all montero bashers, he was one of the best defenders 3 years ago, so plz dont be ridiculous saying that he is the worst defender while you know that he is 33-34 years old!!

ya i know that, but the guy who started the thread said that he is probably one of the worst defenders (as if he doesnt know that a player becomes weak when he gets older) :groan:

Probarly many of you guys will dissagrea with me but when I see Montero play I get happy, he isn`t so slow as some of you guys think and I like his temper.
He is one of the players I actually love to see playing same as Cannavaro, but he isn`t so good as he used to be. But he sure is better than many other defenders Juve have.
Forza Montero!

Do you guys remember when Paulo was the best tackler in Serie A? I certainly do, i think we should keep him as a sub possibly after Ferrara retires.
Even though I do like his personailty, but I think that Montero is too slow to keep up with the pace of strikers these days. Hell even Baros can make a fool out of him. I say juz let him retire at this age or he can play in his hometown.

I actually agree with NEDVED, I wonder how did the worst defender contribute to our success in the 1996 + 1997 campaign. Pls remember wad he did b4 in Juve bashing him due to his decline of form.
