It's painful to see how much we suffer without Mohamed's energy and his quickness when closing down on players.

He is absolutely vital for us to keep the team from collapsing

The problem is that we haven't adjusted our tactics since he got injured.

It is suicidal (as we have repeated seen) to keep playing our very high defensive line without players in midfield that can really press the ball.

Yeah, you'd think even an experienced coach like Ranieri (despite all his shortcomings) would have been able to recognize the risk and adjusted accordingly.

but then again we've seen how stubborn, and uncompromising he can be when it comes to such things.

Momo was one of the players that liked Ranieri. Ranieri had given Momo his first chances in Valencia and he wanted him here. I hope now that Ranieri is gone, this does not affect Momo's performances...

so while i agree to that, it is really difficult, because you can not change tactics and formation for every game, because every game lately he only had 2 healthy central midfielders ... that makes more then 10 possible central midfield combinations.

you can not practice 10 formations/tactics for every eventuall combination that fits best in training.

so what can you do ? you can demand from players to either change their style and play like the player they do replace right now or you can hope that the whole team does make up for the lack of running the injury of sissoko created in our midfield.

with some players obviously not willing to help close down the opponent on the counter attack (namely alex and camo) you are openly exposed, because without pressure there are many players that can play a pass that will break our offside trap.

You make slight adjustments.

All I'm suggesting is ditching the super-high line we hold, by dropping the defence about ten yards deeper.

That concedes some space to opposition in other areas of the pitch, but it is a slightly less risky option with the players available right now.
