why is everyone so quick to judge him, i dont think there was a single person who wanted iaquinta to come but he has turned out to be a decent signing and i believe sissoko will be aswell his style suits the italian league..but i could be wrong and he will be a total disaster like almiron and tiago

Liverpool fan here:

Just want to wish Momo well and let you guys know you're getting a bargain. Momo has the potential to be a great player, he's struggled with his form this season and is really lacking confidence but all he needs is a good run in a side (which unfortunately he's not going to get with Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano ahead of him) and im sure he'll be back to his form of his first 2 seasons with us. To put into perspective how good he was in those 2 seasons; i'd have put him ahead of Gerrard (who had arguably his best season for us in 05/06 scoring 23 goals from midfield) and any other player for us during those seasons.

Good luck Momo

You would seriously place Sissoko on the team sheet before Gerrard during those seasons? Oh my.

In 05/06 Momo was our best player and upto his injury in 06/07 he was our best player again (and then came back for the Barca games where he was excellent). Jamie Carragher does the club awards each year and he said it was close between Gerrard and Sissoko but he said Sissoko edged it and i agree.

Answering your question, on there form in those seasons (especially 06/07) id have had him in ahead of Gerrard if it came too it

Well, I've seen him in the Prem a few times over the past two years and sometimes he plays well, sometimes he plays poorly. From the Pool supporters that I've seen, they're either really impressed with him (like you) or think he's terrible, so it seems like either you hate him or you love him. Hopefully we will get the Sissoko that impresses people.

Welcome btw.

Thanks.

I'll think you'll find the ones that don't rate him are fans that either don't appreciate the type of role he plays or are basing their opinion on this season. He's been really poor this season but he's been playing the odd game here and there, he needs a run in the side and im sure you'll see the Sissoko of 05-07.

He's not great on the ball but Makelele has proven that you can make a career without being great on the ball, Sissoko's problem is he hasn't realised it yet and tries the 60yard passes.

Anyway i wish you guys and Momo luck and like i said i think you've got a bargain.

During those seasons not in general. And if you asked most serious Liverpool fans they'd agree.

Momo (no Gerrard or Alonso) up against Ballack, Essien and Lampard:
