    Moggi: J'accuse Inter
    Sunday 5 August, 2007
Luciano Moggi has spoken out about the Calciopoli scandal, Juventus, Inter, the FIGC and the 'real’ mafia within football.

The disgraced former Juventus director general was painted as the central figure in a system, referred to by public prosecutors as the 'Cupola’, running refereeing favours and transfer irregularities in Italian football.

“I am the only one who really defended Juve. They went into the trial by pleading guilty to every charge and asking for a lenient sentence. I can be a lawyer too, if that’s all it takes,” accused Moggi in an interview with Italo Cucci.

“You ask me if in reality the whole scandal was a battle between the two factions of the Agnelli family? I plead the Fifth. Looking at the newspapers, there are some fractures within the family that I never even imagined.”

The fight for control of the Juve empire after the death of both Gianni and Umberto Agnelli has seen two distinct factions break out and Moggi insists the initial Calciopoli leak came from an insider who wanted him ousted.

“If Luca Cordero di Montezemolo had defended Juventus the way he is now defending Ferrari, the club would never have gone into Serie B.”

Juve were demoted after the Calciopoli scandal and initially given a 30-point penalty, eventually reduced to 11 on appeal.

“I was painted as being responsible for all the ills in the world of football. They told FIGC Commissioner Rossi that they just needed to kick Juventus out to resolve everything. When he went, the same people said nothing had changed,” continued Moggi.

“The truth is that the 'Cupola’ is still the same as it always was with Franco Carraro at the head, swiftly followed by all the current chiefs of Italian football. Carraro was in charge before and he still is now.”

Former Federation President Carraro was initially suspended for his part in the scandal, but was later cleared on appeal.

Although he is no longer the chief of the FIGC, he continues to hold a consultation role and was part of the committee proposing Italy to host the Euro 2012 games.

Moggi was at the centre of the trial when wiretapped telephone conversations were published in the newspapers and in some cases played on radio.

“I can tell you that in the enormous number of calls they intercepted, there was nothing particularly noteworthy. What was said between Milan director Leonardo Meani and Pierluigi Collina was far worse, yet he is now a refereeing designator,” said the former Juventus transfer guru.

“I ask myself another question – why were Inter never wiretapped? The answer I give is because Marco Tronchetti Provera put the phone down.”

Moggi is here referring to the fact Inter director Tronchetti Provera is a leading figure in Telecom Italia. That is not the end of his accusations aimed at the Nerazzurri.

“The power is now centred in Milan and Inter will win the Scudetto for four years on the trot. To achieve that they had to get Patrick Vieira and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, two Juventus players I would never have sold to them.

“I will say even more – that rather than hand them over to the Nerazzurri, I would have let Juve lose money. But this is how they managed to win what they had not done in 18 years.”

Both Ibrahimovic and Vieira demanded a transfer away from Turin in the wake of Calciopoli.

    A question

What was said between Meani and Pier Luigi Collina

Exactly.Nothing is more right that this statement.
Fucking Inter as a graveyard for players would never get the scudetto.Never.We beat fucking bastards for fun.Over and over again. They spend billions for players and nothing. They need Juve to be relegated and Milan to stard with minus 9 points to win scudetto.Poor creeps.

as much as i hate Inter and how much I agree that they are nothing more than a corrupt , lying , pathetic excuse of a club , all this inter bitterness and hatred is getting old and annoying . Yes , we all hate inter , but being so bitter about them is actually very sad and childish . who cares about inter , moratti , and co .. There is so much hate for inter that the love for juve is forgotten .

We're Juventus fans , not Inter-haters . Moggi is a loser , so is moratti . Defending one while hating the other is just as bad .

And how could you conclude that Moggi is a loser?

Yeah, I remember we didn't win anything in the last decade.

if Moggi is loser there is no winner in the world
Yes he is a loser , he did lose didn't he . Do i have to remind you Juventus went down to serie B and lost two scudetti . But that was besides my point , I actually meant loser in life . Moggi , moratti , berlusconi .. They're all corrupt . Moggi was just caught in the act . He was stupid for getting caught and immoral and disgraceful for being involved . So in any case , he is a loser .

These discussions will never end, there is a group that thinks that Moggi was something wonderful and Inter are behind the biggest conspiracy in Italian football and there is another group that know that Moggi was guilty and are happy we got rid of him. The second group is also wishing that other corrupt personnel will be got rid of, sooner or later.

Unfortunately this forum is a battleground for these two groups.

The fact is , corruption is everwhere . And yes there was corruption in Juventus , people who can't accept that are obviously biased . Football will never be clean , but at least now it's cleaner with Moggi gone .

Italian football did something good for a chnage they stood up to Moggi , and soon they will stand up to Moratti , maybe then Berlusconi . Soon enough we will have a better calcio .

I think so too, but getting rid of all corrupt figures at one time is something really bad for Italian football, the league would be worse that than the Lebanese league in an overnight. Unfortunately the cleaning started with Juventus but the others' turn will come.

exactly . what's good is that at least the italian league is making an effort to clean up its football . Something all the major leagues aren't doing and make no mistake , the spanish and english leagues are just as corrupt as the Italian league .

Read or ask someone competent about right definition of a word loser.
Moggi is anything else but not a losr,by any aspect.
And I love Juve more than anything of sport world.
I just feel sickness when fucks like Inter get scudetto of HONEST.,LIKE THEY SAID.

Something you don't seem to understand is that being a winner while cheating isn't really being a winner . If moggi was clean , he wouldn't be a loser .
He isn't clean , he's corrupt . He made juventus go through its darkest of times and stripped them of two scudetti . Now he's out of the sports world and is hated by millions around the world . People see him as a disgusting symbol of corruption .

    But you're right , he's a true winner .

Collina is choosing the referees now. If you think you can bribe him you might as well attempt to win the lottery instead.

    Amen to that!

I look at this differently now after reading bianconero's posts (Moggi quotes), but still that doesn't make Moggi innocent at all, yes maybe he wanted to defend Juventus with that way, but you did it the wrong way Moggi, you fucked up! you should let these to Agnelli family from the beginning (At Giovanni and Gianni's time), you could end the corruption in other way, but you didn't do that you played it with their rules, and you aren't any different than them. So No to Moggi and the likes, i want them all gone! let's not play with their rules, let's refuse it and find ways to bring them down. We are in 21st century, nothing can't be solved by courts. If you see something, then shout it out loud!
