Release clause?

The good news for Vucinic, with his playing style he will be able to play at at high level at 35. He reminds me of Totti in that when he's good he can dictate the game without moving that much.

The bad news is that he's still not 35 yet. He doesn't move at all and that's why small Giovinco has to play the CF, bang with the defenders and run behind the defense while also doing Vuci's defensive duties.

he never has amazing games, is usually poor but makes one decisive contribution.
Define decisive: creates a "chance"? Or a "goal"? or opens up space?

Sooner or later Conte needs to draw a line between consistency and the occasional contribution.

He didn't even bother.... Apart from
Missing sitters he doesn't run... There were so many moments when we won the Ball or a misplaced pass from nipples and he just stands still rather than making a run in the box

BTW he was poor for Most of the Season... Yes he had a moment here and there and thats about it... If bonucci would make as many mistakes but has a good tackle now and than you Guys would have killed him

He's a weird player for sure. His proper position is becoming blurrier and blurrier by the game it seems.

It seems he's best out wide but has no work rate to track back and keep shape.
His size and strength helps him up top to hold the ball up, but lacks finishing that a target man needs.
And he can create from outside the box but doesn't have the speed or agility to properly link up play from behind a target man. He is useless with the ball in midfield. Too slow to switch or spread play and rejoin the attack quickly.

In other words, it is becoming harder to hide his deficiencies.

Very soon, and possibly already (if you consider ideal lineups), he'll be a player that can only play in certain games vs. certain opponents. Otherwise, he will be a sub or someone used for creativity late in games.

But I still would be hesitant to sell unless a great offer comes because he does have somewhat unique abilities that can always be useful.

He should just be benched if he played as bad as everyone says he did tonight. He knows that he will start regardless and that affects his performance. He should be thought a lesson by being benched.
Imagine if Matri or Quag had played like this guy did, they would be benched and cursed until end of the season.

Even on days where he's as poor in front of goal as he was today, his link up with the midfield and his function as an outlet for pressure is vital. Safe bet for a 10/10 starter (when fit) for the next few seasons.

I gave him a pass before because he usually blows up during the second half of the season. That doesn't seem to be the case this year. He's been mediocre, really has.

The link up play with the midfield (whether good or bad) counts for very little if it never amounts to anything. I say some are clutching at straws here if that's the only positive they are clinging to in these last few rounds.

There's a reason he starts with the inconsistency.
So you are saying the occasional "contributions" are whats keeping him in the lineup?
