Honestly, the regista role often limits him. He doesn't have the long ball Pirlo or Marchisio have/had, and making forward passes from often 50/60 meters away from the opposition's goal is difficult. If you free him up, like Allegri did yesterday, he will get more involved and contribute more in the play going forward.
