The first half was basically played in a 20 meter area. Absolutely no space between the lines or any runs for him to pick out, nor the time to do it.

Perhaps over 90 minutes of 11 v 11 he would have created a goal but we didn't really get a chance to see those circumstances.
He actually had a pretty decent first 5-10 minutes. And then vanished completely for the rest of the match. I think he made more touches in the ball in those first 5-10 minutes than in the next 80.

Pjanic has been the most important player for Higuain as well, thus far. So when he disappears like that, it makes it a lot more difficult for Higuain to be involved in the match, aside from trying to get on the end of crosses from out wide.

He's always been inconsistent, but improved on that a lot last season and put in very few disappearing acts like the one today. Hopefully today is a rarity for him this year.

As always, it's a team sport. Higuain "disappears" when Pjanic doesn't give him the ball. Pjanic disappears because Lemina doesn't give him the ball quick enough and in the right areas. Lemina disappears, or rather appears, because he's covering mistakes from Alves (and then disappears with a red because he's covering Bonucci's error at midfield).

There are few players that can just take the ball from the opponent and put it in the net.

Pjanic is a bit of a "good time" player. But that's how they all are. That's how Ozil is, that's how Hazard is, that's how James is, etc.

That's why Cuadrado and Sandro are such fantastic players to have on the pitch. They both have that ability to take the ball from the opponent and create magic regardless of how the team is performing.

Kind of awful performance that pretty much made me hope he leaves this kind of lazy inconsistency at home in Roma. But alas what can you do. His base lowest performance is pretty much ghost level unfortunately. But then again he is quite specific type of player who only functions in a certain way, and for a playmaker, rarely wants to get on the ball really.
So, in other words, he'll be useless 80% of the time?

Jolly.

He didn't really have space last night, needs to learn to impose himself even under constant pressure. I think he'll play better once Claudio is back, he had Naingollan and De Rossi at Roma who offered cover.

Pjanic on a technical level is top-notch, probably second to none in his role.

However, on the mental state of things, he was never a world champion and I'm not sure he can be. But if there is a club out there that makes champions out of players, it's Juve.

This guy is the key to our improvement, apart from mentality.

There is no Nainggolan or Vidal to do the running for him.

He is here to step up and cement his place as a world class midfielder.

He must adapt. He was always inconsistent and every other game a ghost in the midfield. Now, we don't have the men to make up for it. If he plays as a ghost, we suck, as simple as that.

He must assert himself and make his presence felt. We need more dynamism from him, absolutely. We have been losing midfield battles almost every game, and that's related to him.

If he doesn't step up, the solution may be adding another midfielder to the starting lineup in january. Not replacing him, but adding another body in there, moving to a 4 men defense.

That was not the plan Allegri and Marotta had in mind, but the transition may be accelerated because of this.

We have a team that is ill suited for Pjanic to be honest. Ever since 2012 the key to our team has always been a dynamic, physically strong midfield with three midfielders who can easily switch roles, who have a lof of offensive output, but are also ballwinners. Pjanic is severely lacking both physically and mentally in the sense that he just does not have the necessary grinta within him. Imo he's the kind of guy we need on our roster to make that extra step forward in terms of quality, but he shouldn't necessarily start every game.

He is a pussy boy and should not be playing regista or DM. Put him as a Treq and involve him every fuking play, for him to unlock defenses with his accurate vision and shoots..and to feed our forwards. IMO theres the only place where he can go. As a DM he suffers from the old Ghostisio syndrome. We need to forcefully involve him in every attacking play.

I was referring always as a CM. The best for the team would be that he could master this position

Pjanic will rise like Pogba did once Marchisio returns.

At roma he had a similar situation with Lucky Strike
