Most players are replaceable, but the question is why would you want to do it with someone who is performing well. I mean whenever I watch Juve, the guy is always so important in build up play especially. You always need these kind of midfielders that can pass between the lines, and create chances as well. He's doing all these things so well, and he can score a mean free kick(he learned from the best).

I know you don't want to sell him, but there seems to be quite a few people that do.
Not saying he isn't talented, but he's inconsistent and gets stupid cards. Perhaps I'm wrong here, but I also see him as soft and requiring protection.

i can't but repeat myself: selling pjanic would automatically mean that it is a sideways moving mercato at best. he's our only classy midfielder, and he'd start in most teams in the world, including iniesta-less barcelona, and modric-less real. but he's not good enough for people of tuz. :baus:

i'd be fucking pissed if we let him go. and stop with the "if selling pjanic is the key for sms then it's fine" nonsense: sms is a talent, pjanic is a modern pirlo who delivered pretty consistently on the highest level for a couple of years. i'd never swap pjanic for sms, at least not in the next 3 years, let alone paying the double of pjanic's price for the serb. and we won't get sms anyway, we all know that - and that probably leaves us with emre can as our best realistic shot at a pjanic replacement. what a disgrace that would be.

Kovacic is talented, but he has done nothing to prove he is better than Pjanic. That is a big claim to make.

Can someone explain to me why there are so many Juve fans that don't rate Pjanic?

I've been a fan of the guy since he was at Metz; I remember posting about him here a couple of times back then, how time flies :D
Obviously Kovacic is not currently better than Pjanic, im just messing around when I say that.

Majority of posters on Juventuz rate him at a ridiculously high level. Just look someone above me said he is the "modern day Pirlo" That is the most retarded pile of shit ive ever heard in my life.

He's an average regista that needs to be heavily babysitted. The main point of having a regista is to have someone who can dictate the game and can who can be a good outlet for when teams are pressuring. Pjanic is not good at either. Marchisio and Pirlo (outside his last season) brought that and much more.

Pjanic is a gr8 player but if we were to waste him out of position as a regista when we currently have a better regista i'd rather we move on. He would have been great in Allegri's first season flanking Marchisio alongside Pogba......

what do you think about Sanjin Prcic btw, if you have seen him play. starter for Rennes, but never gets called for the NT for some reason
I've seen him play a few times, #10 for Rennes. Unfortunately I do not follow football as much as I did in my younger days, simply no time anymore :depressed

To be honest my impression of Prcic isn't that good, whenever I've seen him play he never seems to have any apparent strengths. I think he is supposed to be more or less a creative central midfielder, but for the most part other than the odd long ball, he didn't look to me like a particularly good passer. At Rennes, his midfield partner Benjamin Andre is the real star of the midfield.

but hes still a starter for them for whatever reason, which is why i find it odd that he cant even make the bench on the NT, let alone start

Just sell if his mind is set on moving somewhere else, tbf he just isn't as irreplaceable as some want to make it seem, yes we should prioritize keeping him but if a proper midfield revamp is in place prior to his sell then no doubt we should be considering it, especially if a 80m+ offer comes in, his inconsistency alone would warrant giving it a thought at the very least.

P.S.: I do rate Pjanic and i'm not at all a fan of this rumours but it is what it is, if he really wants to leave than so be it, there's definitely still life with or without him.

Small expression errors tbh, mostly due to writing quick without reading it beforehand, fixing it to be understandable even for those lacking a bit in comprehension. :p

Also not really relevant at all given that my occasional edits are just short adjustments on the exact same opinion.

I think Pjanic is way too good going forward and assisting , to be pigeonholed as a regista with no physical play.

I would prefer Can as regista, move Pjanic up and use a good DM to round the mid. Preferably not Khedira. matuidi could be but i want a DM who can pass a ball or run with it at the very least... not only tackle and press.

    My 2 cents

Don't know how reliable AS is, but that article (google) translates like:

"In the core, the main objective is called Miralem Pjanic. His signing would allow to advance the position of Coutinho if it is impossible to sign a crack in the top and allow closing a center of the field of guarantees. Busquets, Rakitic and Pjanic would form a triangle of hierarchy to be able to face the season with guarantees. The player knows the interest of Barca (likes in Barça offices for years) and Juventus never closes in a band to negotiate. Transfers like that of Thiago or Eriksen are considered practically impossible, so Bosnian is the big target. I work for Abidal. Bartomeu has given orders to put everything to have a template that regains a place in the European elite after three years out of the Champions semifinals."

Tuttojuve also mentioned this article and said Pjanic gave his ok to Barca, tho I can't see that in that article and I doubt it was lost in translation.

    Corsport:

Juventus are taking time to offer Pjanić a new contract. He wants to renew for a deal worth €7m net [€2m increase]. For now, Juve don't want to discuss about renewing his contract.

    Corsport:

Juventus have fixed a price on Pjanić. It is €100m. Either all of it in fixed transfer fees, or €80m-€85m in fixed transfer fees and the rest in bonuses.

"Bring us €100m or don't touch Pjanić."

There seems to be a twist to the plot according to the latest from football-italia.net

    Braida: Barca don't want Pjanic.

Barcelona director Ariedo Braida insists ‘there are no negotiations’ for Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic and that he ‘doesn’t fit’ into the club’s market strategy.

Speculation had intensified that Barca were looking to sign Pjanic after Andres Iniesta’s departure, but Braida seemingly confirmed the Catalans would bring forward the arrival of Gremio midfielder Arthur.

““He’s a good player, but now we have a Brazilian who will take on that role [of ‘regista’] because Barcelona are banking on him.

“There are those who take care of the market for Barcelona, but certainly I know the club’s strategy and Pjanic doesn’t fit into it.”

There are no negotiations and I don’t think we’re interested in him,” the former Milan general manager told JuveNews.eu.

Rumors are no offers made yet.

Really hope we don't sell him and hope we give him another rockstar CM to play with.

Would love to see what he could do with capable players next to him. He is going to have some serious fire power running down the wings as targets too, plus having some technical CM's that are quick with the ball will make him really shine.
