It's not even about him climbing out of the hole. We aren't even using a formation that would be suitable for him. 433 is the way to go while dominating possession... That just isn't his game.

He has had 12 months. That's plenty of time to get back into form. Who knows he could pleasantly surprise us all in the coming months

He just needs to learn how to speak Italian. Break down that communication barrier and give him time to build his confidence in training. He needs proper instruction I know that if he is given a different kind of role that allows him more freedom he will be back to his best but that won't happen until he start to understand Italian.
