You can't keep playing him when he looks so awful, just because of what he did last year (he was weak in many games last year too...). You can support him and give him confidence by playing him for few matches, but if he won't get better, Conte must bench him, don't care if it's for Giaccherini or De Silvestro.

Exactly my point, the thought of even benching him is ridiculous when we dont have anyone who even comes close to a suitable replacement.

It's Conte's job to see if there's someone like you said better or on better form. So dropping Krasic isn't a big deal if he offers nothing when he plays.
He could also bench him and revert to 4-3-3;
But the point every player who performs like shit for extended period of time should see the bench, Krasic is still living of his First games heroics.

Don't like this, but I can honestly see Vidal benching Krasic. Why?

- Marchisio is Conte's pet player and will probably play. Would Conte bench himself? Probably not, and Marchisio in Conte's words is the better player.
- Pirlo is Pirlo and will play when available.
- Conte plays 4-2-4
- Conte doesn't like Krasic as a winger.
- Vidal is a great player that is capable of playing in many positions.
- Vidal is one of the big reinforcements of the season.


This is a situation I don't like but can easily see happening. A possibility is also Giaccherini.
