He doesn't need rest, some of you are incredible here. The man has been rested and subs too often this season and at times playing less than 90min per week this is more than any vacation a professional player can have which is around 10 days.

We don't have European commitments nor Coppa anymore, there's no reason to be tired and I totally refuse to believe that he's tired. He's just off-form and that's all. He can't be rested more than what he's given.

It might not be just a physical thing.
It can be many things, one of them it can be that Serie A defenders aren't giving him too much space knowing that he's predictable with his runs and dribbles at times and he's not offering something new since a while. There could be another reason which is that Del Neri is requiring from him more defensive role since we don't have a stable full-back that covers well and can allow him to push forward more.

There can be many reasons but it's lame to just keep on repeating the he needs a rest since the begining of the season when in-fact he was rested and subs too many times this season. (Ex: He was taken off vs Cagliari and he had one week to prepare for the Inter game without playing Mid week matches).

If he looses the ball he's tired, if he doesn't score he's tired if he doesn't past dribble his opponents he needs a rest and it's the Russian league. He doesn't need rest, he's just having his black days recently, that's all gents.

It was always going to happen that eventually teams would become clued up to him. He is something completely different for this league and he benefited from that early on. It doesn't make him less of a player, he just needs to find other ways to exploit his skills and as he can go inside and out I don't worry about him.

He isn't the most charismatic of players but he seems very quiet right now during stoppages and at the end of games, makes me wonder if he is mentally drained.

Exactly, well said Rab. We have one competition now and that's just the league. We need our best players playing as much as possible to get us up the table so they need to suck it up. I think Krasic realizes he needs to and also realizes what it means to play for a club like this. It was nice to see Matri man up and play on so there is no reason a guy that runs like a gazelle (Milos) can't run a full 90 mins in just one competition.

We need our big boys playing until we are in a good position in the table.

He just took a dip in form, he seemed to be getting out of it yesterday because he just wasn't as bad as before. I tell you though, if our team keeps firing on all cylinders like yesterday then eventually teams are going to have to give him more space to try and handle the rest of our attack, so you know its only a matter of time.

Now he gets double marked and that (like yesterday) leaves space for Sorensen, drags people away from Matri and then we get clear shots on goal. Eventually when he stops getting double teamed he will be able to get back to himself.

Da, I remember that. Zanetti decided to step back as he thought he'd make a run like he usually does, but he made a cross from the place where he was standing and it was amazing, too bad Matri couldn't nail it.

Both my hands were on my head when I saw that miss, along with closed eyes.

Expecting him to beat 2 defenders who are absolutely keyed on him every time he gets the ball on the flank and then saying he's off form when he can't.

    :sergio:

Yes, he was beating 2 and 3 guys at once early in the season but teams are ready now. Krasic doesn't need rest or to learn new tricks because it's illogical to expect him to dribble past 2 guys anymore. He needs SUPPORT. From midfielders and his fullback.

One time our fullback got properly forward behind him and we scored.

    Use your heads.

The problem is we don't have fullbacks. Only two central defenders pretending to be fullbacks.

I thought Krasic did better yesterday than he has recently.

However, it wasn't that he was beating his man, it's just that he actually passed the ball most of the time instead of trying and failing to run with it.

You can't play top level football for well over a year without any proper rest without suffering some sort of fatigue.

It is possible that it is mental fatigue, rather a physical issue, though.

He had one great cross yesterday for Matri and it should have been a goal for Matri and an assist for Krasic.
    :agree:

Part of the reason I haven't really praised Matri much is that he only scored one goal, when he had two great chances and one half chance.
