Agnelli defends Krasic over dive
Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has launched an impassioned defence of Milos Krasic following the criticism he received after his dive against Bologna.
Krasic is expected to earn a two-match ban for unsportsmanlike behaviour this afternoon, but Juventus claim the reaction has been over the top.
Mediaset journalist Maurizio Pistocchi was accused of racism after he said: “I thought Krasic was a serious player, but instead he is only a Serb.”
In a statement released by the club, Agnelli said: “Since Sunday we have alerted our lawyers in light of the 'media attacks' that have broken out with the opinions of some journalists being based on the ethnicity of the player.
“We are convinced that Krasic's behaviour was that of a fair person, a great champion who has preferred Serie A to the Premier League, and therefore a player who should be protected both on and off the pitch.
“There was a penalty for a foul on Iaquinta not on Milos, who on average receives four or five big kicks every game,” he concluded.
